Unix Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) Choose on the days of Monday, Wednesday or Saturday between the teams of 6pm EST to 10pm EST. Times are on a first come first serve basis. If teams cannot agree on a time, the league staff will determine a time. -Team Courage v. Team Namp (7pm EST Saturday)-Team omni v. Team Unix (10pm EST Wednesday) --Team Unix wins --Unix 20 - 7 omni--Unix 9 - 20 omni---------------------Unix 20 - 7 omni--Unix 20 - X omni Team Unix wins first two rounds, third round not needed. Unix Posted December 30, 2009 Author Report Posted December 30, 2009 omni, how do you feel about later games? Any day is fine.
omni Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Why are the times so late? For me that range is 9pm to 1am in the morning. Many of my players wont be able to make it as well. Would it be possible to have one in the afternoon? Somewhere like 3-4pm est?
Unix Posted December 31, 2009 Author Report Posted December 31, 2009 Most of my players, as well as a good amount of players in the zone play in the evening the most and that's when it's easiest to make the matches for them. Since the player base is made mostly of North American players.
omni Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Would 3-4pm est work for you? For Pacific North Americans, your time goes to 1am in the morning. Hardly evening.
spidernl Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) Can we please try to avoid things Unix seems to be planning right here in this thread: Not accepting "early" times for the simple reason of preventing the enemy team from getting the players they want in a game? I'd like to just have a nice league full of sportsmanship, that I can play. As in, that I can play before 3 am in the morning. Edit: Also, in my opinion times should simply be "unlocked", as in that any time both teams and a referee can make it should be acceptable. Edit2: Another thing: I think 3-4 pm is quite a bit less harsh for "you guys" than 1 am - 4 am is for those who don't live on that big continent in the west. Edit3: Random question, but who exactly are the "league staff"? Of course including captains in that staff would make the times decided by them very biased. Uhoh. Edited January 1, 2010 by spidernl

Unix Posted January 1, 2010 Author Report Posted January 1, 2010 spidernl, the problem with having a wide open scheduling is that it doesnt give players or staff the ability to have a sensible estimation of when matches will be. If matches could be any day of the week any time of the day, that could be a pretty big pain to have to take care of. If you have matches at a certain day or time frame, it allows players and staff a certain level of consistency so that they can better schedule themselves to play or referee a match. Right now the window is pretty big in itself, Mon/Wed/Sat with a 4 hour window each day. You were made aware of that before you even signed up that that was the actual window and that window is where the greater majority of players who play the zone can make it. I've talked to two of the other captains, and they both agreed that these times were best for them. omni seems to have his time zones kind of mixed up, but after he realizes what time it actually is for him, I think he'd agree that those times are good for him overall too.

What's wrong with adding a small 1-2 hour timeframe earlier on the day. That should be doable on saturdays, and if it's not nobody is gonna notice anyway. Edit: Wait, I know the answer:Unix> If the timeframe is bigger, I have to try harder to hide my attempts at winning the league through annoying match-times. Edited January 1, 2010 by spidernl
»D1st0rt Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Spider its nice that you and Unix are battling for 2nd place with match scheduling but can we please stop the conspiracy theories
