L.C. Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Last time he was active here he mentioned that he would go and dig up the source code to his AI bot. Does anyone have any contact information to Bjorn? I would like to check up on that. Quote
»Purge Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Really? He'd be the first to release a MERV AI source. Quote
Samapico Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 He was the first to make a MERV AI bot too, so I guess that would kind of make sense, right? Quote
»Purge Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Naw, Invader-Zim did one too. I also made a rudimentary version of an AI "mech". Neither of them were as customizable and flexible as Bjorn's, though. Quote
L.C. Posted November 30, 2009 Author Report Posted November 30, 2009 Invader-Zim's bot was better than Bjorn's. Quote
Chambahs Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Bjorn gave me the src to the bot before he disappeared, he lost it again, and the only copy he has is in his computer thats in storage. Hes been MIA since I last got in contact with him a LONG time ago. Quote

Chambahs Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Thats why i havent released it. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 If your not going to release it, then atleast make it flexible or work on it. dont be a priitk Quote
»jabjabjab Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Give it to someone who you trust. Simple. Quote
Gravitron Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Bjorn? I think it was The Bajan who made an advanced AI bot. Quote
Samapico Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Bjorn? I think it was The Bajan who made an advanced AI bot.Nope, that was Bjorn... But why did he give the code to you, CHambs, if you don't code? Quote
Chambahs Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 LOL AT GRAV. THE BAJAN? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO back on topic.. He gave it to me because i asked for it. And as far as giving it to someone who I trust, i only trust snrrrub. Quote
Gravitron Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) You newbies all look the same to me. Back when the first bots were being showcased, the name I have associated with that is the bajan, IDK why. You'd have to ask zoneguy/1ststrike, or whatever name he goes by nowadays, IIRC, he had one the first zones to deploy them. Chambahs Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 You always want to try to give someone a history lesson, please, just stfu, why dont you go troll mgb forums again? I used to think you were cool...sometimes...but now, your just annoying. Quote

»Purge Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Zim gave me his AI source just now to post. It is attached.zimsai.tar.rar Quote
L.C. Posted December 2, 2009 Author Report Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) Thank you Zim and Purge! It is under my impression based on the demonstration Death+ gave me of his AI bots that they are better and more efficient than Bjorn's bot (though as someone pointed out, supposedly less flexible). Dav Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 I remember that Bjorns bot was quite good before he stopped working on it. Im sure I have the files for the one we ran in DS back in the day somewhere on my backup drive. (compiled plugin+bot not the src) Quote
Bjorn Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Chamb, if you have a copy you can go ahead and release it. I still don't have access to my old files. Not sure what chamb has and how old that is but it will have to do for now I guess. Quote
Samapico Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Usualy a programmers reasons for not realeasing the source code have very little to do with worrying that people will steal it, and much more to do with the worry that people will laugh at it Trust me, i know ^^. busted And then we'll laugh at it Quote

TurboSlug22 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I ran into Bjorn online a few days ago and asked him about his source code actually. He said he intends to release it to us but it is locked in storage still. I do have his email address but its a work address... I'll ask him about the source again personally. He actually owns his own marketing company. He says for $ he can deliver network traffic to our page to DL the client. Perhaps I can arrange a condition of the deal that he includes the source to his bots.... Quote
