★ jabjabjab Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 (edited) Seems stuff like this would be the best route to getting people to play our game. says for 10 dollars a day on advertisement, an estimate of 20 clicks could be made going directly to something like http://www.getcontinuum.com. doing that for 10 days... 200 clicks. sounds good to me. There's also another way to pay, through bid which seems stupid but w.e. We should just donate to a paypal or something to keep the advertisement going if started. Image is optional and size is 110 by 80 pixels. My pic. http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss31/XDreamersMS/ad.png obviously can be made better but it serves as an example.http://www.getcontinuum.com/advertise.php tooFacebook has potential. ⛊ Drake7707 Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 A continuum client written in flash (or silverlight because that's much easier in c#) and uploaded as a facebook application would be much more effective
L.C. Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 Continuum should be available via browser Java/Flash and on cell phones. It should also be available via console (XBox/360, PS2/3, Wii, PSP, etc). TurboSlug22 Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) Hey I'll put in a few bux and see what comes our way - cant hurt Besides, I disagree about the potential popularity of SS. Indy games are 2d and a lot of them are popular... Look at games like uplink, gish, world of goo, trine (ok thats pushing it but still...) Even while top view RTS games have 3d models, you basically dont notice it when youre zoomed out - i think it comes down to gameplay - at least for some gamers In that regard, we have unique gameplay and therefore no 3d game can offer what we do. lets get this going - where do I send my money? lol Edited November 29, 2009 by TurboSlug22 You are me and I am youI'll always be with youWe're nothing without eachotherYou are me and I am youI'll always be with youI was asked about this, so just FYI, this is from a song. Its something that I really resonate with. The idea that we're all a product of our own interactions. Sharing the good moments and weathering the tough moments. That without each other, there is no debate or challenging of ideas. We are therefore a product of our own beliefs, forged and molded by our relationships and all the good moments and the bad moments that they bring. We are our relationships.I think then that as long as we share the same core values for growth and life we ought to open our hearts and love and accept each otherOnly trolls and lying bastards get no love... Same thing I guess.
L.C. Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) Just set these up: subspace@hlrse.net or subspace@bluetoast.org (PayPal). Any further input and ideas, PoLiX? :? What is the wisest way to allocate funds for advertisements? How would you do it? I am able to set a daily maximum (currently $1.04) and a cost-per-click bid (currently $0.52). If anyone has any ideas for additional Facebook advertisements, feel free to suggest them. Advertisements have a Ad Name (text that links to getcontinuum.com), Description (text beneath Ad Name), and a Picture (between Ad Name and Description, dimensions 110x80). Separately, suggest keywords. I did spend some time figuring out a good combination of keywords. Some keywords appeal to a greater number of estimated people, and some less. ;o So far today:Date Imp. ★ Xog Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) Would advertising be more effective if all the advertisements were billed and maintained through one account?Yes, but I only wanted to run it for a couple of days to see what kind of improvements you could get with higher bids etc. This won't be a continued project, it's too costly for my own pockets. I only have about $200 spending money a month after paying all my bills & rent. However I will be doing my own donations to the advertising fund if you keep yours open.
