I really shouldn't be having this problem with a 10Mb connection but after not playing for years and revisiting Subspace. I continually lagout every 5 minutes or so. My connection is fine and there does not seem to be a problem with my computer or my connection.

There are only two possibilities as to why this problem occurs: 1) The server is having connection problems. Chances are other people connected to this same zone are also having the same problem as you -- if not, that makes this possibility even more unlikely. 2) Your connection, regardless of what you say. We need more detail as to how you are so sure that your connection and computer is fine -- we need to know what you did and how you come to such conclusion. Two, it is very possible your ISP has been sucking lately, or someone in your area has been torrenting and utilizing most of the available bandwidth for the line you are on, or other (need more detail).
Guest Shieldless Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 I play on Trench Wars, my friend doesn't seem to have problems playing so I highly doubt. If I play any other game especially something that would require a higher end graphics runs fine without lag. I can download up to 10MB fine all day long and rarely do I see it dip down nowadays. But yes I ran a trace on TW and seem to have high packetloss(50 cycles) sending to two IPS. The only thing I have on my desktop that would make it a problem is that I have ZoneAlarm running but added Continuum to exceptions. and I'm not about to uninstall that. I know this is clientside since my friends run the game fine but I have no idea how to solve this.
Samapico Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 The high packet loss you see on the trace (hopone.net I assume?) are usually due to some kind of throttling they do on 'ping' packets, i.e. they ignore some when they receive a bunch of them to avoid having their server flooded. So the trace isn't really accurate for that. What is the reason the server tells you when you lagout?
Guest Shieldless Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Yep the servers I get high ploss is hopone. I always get literally every Disconnected from server. (No data)WARNING: No data coming from server. Happens every 5-10 minutes. I can log back in the next second.
