What is SubSpace to you?

Seriously...

 

EX: To me SubSpace is a hobby. Something I do when I'm not working on cars, or spending time with the g/f. And now owning a home, when I'm not busy with all 3 of these, I find time to sit down for an hr or so a day and browse the web while handling tickets and idling in game. Weekends, sometimes online more, though not always at my laptop, it's near me somewhere to reply. So in reality, SubSpace to me, is a hobby.

 

What is SubSpace to you?

When im bored and i need to pass some time cuz im waiting on somebody, or if its 4am and i cant sleep, its a place for me to work on my trolling skills and trap newb mods into getting axed.

Subspace, and hyperspace specifically, has always been a technical hobby for me. I enjoy the programming aspects, and the game design. The administration is a headache, but I still learn a good deal from it.

Played in DSB a week ago for a couple hours on decent Internet. It was a blast!

The most wonderful and balanced PvP-oriented online game system and mechanics ever invented.

A proof of concept that dedicated quality exceeds in its accomplishments, over short period of time, the produce of quantity.

Before: Constant playing and developing in zones.

Present: Something to log onto to idle and chat during school holidays.

 

But I'm always technically around in the community.

I have old goals still not met, and sticking here till the end is what I want to do. I also see die-hard fans still trying to revive old zones who used to be popular. It gives me the extra push to keep working to do as much as I can for the game. The client is dead, but hell the community itself is eternity.

Well, I've signed up for the Sites of the Final Call (ironically, nolonger exists) ring's oath to be there when they pull the plug on thefinal server.

Although the vow they have taken was primarily for the upcoming, at the time,demise of VIE, I believe it has since been extended, due to player-ownedserver/networks, to the literal last SS zone to go down.

 

So, until they shut down the last one, I'll be here, still. Likely to be the sole representative still left 'playing' (or around) the game.

I've come back to ss many times because it has many faces: a place to chat, a place to learn something techy, a place to show your skills, and oh, of course, a place to badger newbs like chambahs and brainchild. Going to go say bad words in HS now!

Subspace is something of an antique to me. I spend most of my time just happy to know I've met some great people and even greater friends that I've met in person from this game. I enjoy the banter and bashing the most overall I think. Then I think of WoW and I say, peace...time to raid.
