kid Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009  No, I explained why I listed who I did. Some if not half of those players haven't really set foot in either subspace or ssforum for ages (Dock>, Mr Ekted, SOS, Pyxlz, Smong, XDOOM, to name a few). Some have made bigger or different contributions than others (bots, plugins, modules, servers, graphics, websites, hosting, zones, helping, billers, clients, directory servers, promoting the game). I added Cheese because he provides/d open zone hosting to people who need it, plus contributed a few ASSS modules. I didn't add some players like Creatix mainly because they're closed developpers. To me, I'm more interested in people that have and that want to make an impact in this game, whether or not they're well respected, drama queens, or even renowned outside their home zone. It's refreshing to see people, even if they don't have the skills to do it themselves, propose new ideas and try to help and motivate others (yes, this would actually include you jabjabjab). Seeing how I don't frequent every zone, I can't really tell you about some influential players that have left an important mark in them (DSB, Chaos, Halo, MG, MK, HZ, DS, SWE, PB, T3...). Like I said, it's just a small list of many players that could be interviewed. If it were up to me, I'd go so far as to include controversial players, and anyone who simply wants to be surveyed. Influential halo players: fireBLiND, Soup, Agurus (probably gone), Schitt, Whiskeytango, Kid A, bone thug among others http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d200/Adamsjost2/cellplanet-2.png

Dr Brain Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 You'll notice that the post you quoted said nothing about making a positive mark, just making an important mark. Freedom is the right to be wrong.

Dr Brain Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Why go to all the trouble of hunting these people down, only to ask them generic questions? I don't mind the humorous questions, but I feel like there should be at least a few customized to the person and their achievements. Reading the interview, you should have some idea of what the guy actually does (or did). It's acceptable for the interviewer to provide the background information as part of the questioning, too. That makes it so you don't get people bragging about their own accomplishments. Freedom is the right to be wrong.

I don't even mind people bragging about their accomplishments!
🜲 PoLiX Posted October 26, 2009 Author Report Posted October 26, 2009 I asked for question suggestions, got very few answers, and fit almost all the suggested ones within reason into it. So...
