»1587200 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Under the Resolution menu option, 1440x900 is constantly checked by default. I don't like that reso so I change it to 1680x1050 yet after I close Continuum and reopen it, 1440x900 is selected again. Even in my profile I have 1680x1050 selected, but the 1440 in the menu overrides it for some reason. Why does it keep resetting to 1440? Windows Vista Home Basic
CRe Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 This is a problem with where Continuum doesn't have permissions on vista to write. Read http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=13180&view=findpost&p=247896 and http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=23055
rootbear75 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 (edited) If Home Basic is anything like XP Home Edition, it won't have a security tab. I forgot how to enable the OS to show this tab. There is a way to enable the tab to show, however I don't know. Edited October 2, 2009 by rootbear75

»1587200 Posted October 2, 2009 Author Report Posted October 2, 2009 I tried both links and neither worked. I enabled full access for all accounts, even moved it out of program files to multiple directories, and nothin. Deleted, uninstalled, cleared the cache, reinstalled, and it still does it.
CRe Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Look in your profile.dat. See if resolution = whatever is updating when you set the resolution in profiles.
»Blocks Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 I have this same problem on my new Windows 7 machine. For some reason, it wasn't propagating the permissions when I set them for the folder, so I set them one-by-one manually. This did not solve the problem. I tried moving it to my documents folder, which did not work either. It's saved properly in profile.dat, but the menu option always gets set back to something else.
Hakaku Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 I stick by my solution: disable the UAC. All Windows frustrations now fixed.
CRe Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 Yehp just got a new laptop with Windows 7 and I had this problem. Disabling UAC worked.
