General Shadow Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 How does the forum level system work? Does it matter how many posts you make or when you join?
Samapico Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 It's directly related to the number of posts... just like the ranking system on pretty much any other forum Moving to proper forum
General Shadow Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 Really? Cause i know a friend with 230 some posts, hes a level 1, i have 30 some posts, and im level 2.
Samapico Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Giving a name would make things so much easier
General Shadow Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 Oh, lol, sorry. Black Daemon is his name.
Hakaku Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 I think it has to do with that in certain forums and subforums your post isn't counted towards your post count ranking. This was probably done in the old trash talk forum so that spam threads and posts didn't one up spammers' post rankings, so it's possible that Black Daemon, who hasn't really posted outside of Desert Storm's new forum, got caught in this. Just taking a guess here, I don't know if IPB has this feature or not.
Samapico Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 I think it has to do with his secondary group being DS staff... I checked around a bit, and noticed some 17th Parallel staffs who had ranks like 'Level: 1' , instead of 'Level 1'. So my guess is that since some time the ranking does not update when you have a secondary group set.
General Shadow Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 Alright, I was just curious. Thanks
