usb joystick support?

hi sorry if being repetitive here, but i looked around and couldn't find this issue. i've never been good at keyboarding so i want to use my usb joystick but nothing responds in the edit controller definitions. i've checked my gamepad and the o/s recognizes it. i'm assuming continuum doesn't support usb gamepads?

continuum is such a good game. i've been playing it off and on since it came out commercially. if there is no usb gamepad support i'm willing to put an old joystick card in my puter and find an older gamepad to use. will it then work with the old-style gamepads? or is joystick support gone? thanks in advance for your help.

It 'should' work... but having tried it before, it's not very effective :S

The controls aren't analog... well there seems to have like 2 steps (i.e. if you pull left slightly, you rotate somewhat slowly, pull left more you rotate full speed, but there's no in-between speeds)

USB or not shouldn't change anything. I kind of remember people saying they couldn't set up their controller or joystick, but I don't know if there was a solution. I had a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro USB joystick and it worked fine. I think I even hooked up a driving wheel with continuum once, forgot what model it was (it was a friend's). So yeah, it should work...

What OS are you running?

Mine work fine, joystick and gamepad. Suck for controlling.

This may sound stupid, but under keyboard definitions you have joystick/gamepad checked correct? People have forgotten this before.

I made a script to control Continuum with a wii remote and a bluetooth adapter. It was pretty difficult, because I was used to my right hand controlling the ship, and it was hard to do precise controlling. I also didn't utilize any motion sensing. It would be kind of neat to jerk your wii remote up like in MK Wii to repel or something like that though. :(

Is your joystick listed in control panel -> Game Controllers or whatever it was called?
