I know that in continuum one can use sound commands such as %6 or %100, but is it possible to make a custom sound?

Yes, you just have to add bong###.wav or bonb###.wa2 to a lvz file, and %### will play it. You can add bong200.wav, for example, and use %200

Note that other people will not hear it unless they have the same bong as well.

So i couldnt make a sound and have other people here it without them having to download my sound?

If you add a new bong # directly into your Continuum folder, only you will be able to hear it. For that matter, most zones don't allow sending sound messages from player to player, usually only from staff/server to player.

 

If you're running a zone or arena, you can compress the bong file into a .lvz file, and add it into your arena's lvz files setting. This will force anyone who enters your arena to download the file, so that if you use it, everyone will hear it.

nope. However, if you made a bong200.wav in the sound of an explosion, and they had a bong200.wav in the sound of a anvil, if you send %200, they will hear their sound (the anvil) instead of the explosion you want them to hear. (Or, if they don't have a bong200.wav, then they will hear nothing)

There was a sound macro thing, however... I know it was in Subspace, I never really paid attention if it was possible with Continuum. Basically you could set up a few sounds (limited in size) that could be downloaded/heard by other players.

Ya this is still around in Continuum, someone asked me a while back to try and hack it to work with sounds over 64k in length, but i failed But if use short sounds it does work, but i think zones can disable it if they want it.
