SSCC Desert Storm New Era

So it finally happened. The oppressive reigns of our former DS dictatorship have been slashed! The restrictive bindings of our former rulers cast off! Ownership of the zone has transferred to CRe and Dav1. In this most glorious event has marked a new era of life into the heart of SSCC Desert Storm! No longer tethered by the tendrils of irrational thought, poor leadership, close mindedness or cruelty... we are now in a time of hope. Hopefully this will bring about a time for great things to be done in DS finally without stifling or foolish intervention. The days of player abuse will also go the way of the Dodo, our players are our lifeblood and will be treated as such. We are here to serve you, not vica versa.

 

To celebrate this momentous occasion we will be having a pub event on Sunday, August 30th all day! There will be pub events for cred prizes including Spree and Rabbit and much much more. The game format will be mildly tweaked that day for an epic CTF game. To find out what that entails you will have to show up. The higher the JP goes the higher the periodic cred prizes will be all day!

 

Many of the old vets have began to return and we look forward to seeing more of you every day. Spread the word and join us this Sunday for some good ol' fashioned chaos and carnage!

We have some much needed zone updates in the pipleine atm.

 

main things that people should have seen so far are the staff list is repopulated with active staff which means that the population has improved as a result.

Killious was decent, all he did was make maps though. Sideburn was a festering cancer on DS.

Killy did more than maps you turd, he did those sweet kickass gfx, and sideburn was the best for DS, he gave entertainment to everyone by supplying himself to make fun of. lmao

Killious did the towers that we don't use anymore. Thats all I can think of that he did aside from a few maps. All the other gfx were done by MD or TJ or Kame as far as I can recall top of my head.

Just do not understand why it is that when someone is not this "perfect being" that does everything right, people have to bash him / her. These people did good stuff for the zone, so don't thank the retiring owners with a "Foot in the ass booted out the door".

 

If you have something to say about an owner or some figure in power, do not hesitate to speak with them. I mean yeah I did my tw topic here, but i did speak to the person i referenced and had a discussion with him to share my perspectives.

 

Don't like this whole dev bashing nonsense.

I have personal bias against the dutch who screwed me over in DS (vili and jeri and their cohorts). Too much to get into. Not gonna get into any of that crap here though.

You handing the zone to creemy means that I will never set foot in desert storm again, and I will discourage everyone I talk to from appearing.

For the short period of time that i ran/sysop DS it was at its peak 140 players or so competing with the other zone i sysoped during the same time period Metalgear CTF. I think its a combination of bad leadership and the game slowly winding down and losing its player base.

Not like Cheese ever comes the zone so there is nothing to lose.

 

Jab, Jericho didn't care as much as he could have. All he would do is go and play in EG.
