Suicide_Run Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) Hogweed....this plant is fucking evil. In a way, its fucking worst than poison ivy. Don't touch these plants without protection cause if any sap gets on your skin, your fucked. I haven't touch one thankfully but I seen it growing everywhere, where I live (Toronto, Canada). Think its in NY City and Europe too. Dam people in Russia thought it was good to bring it over here, bastards. What happens when you touch it?The plant exudes a clear watery sap, which sensitizes the skin to ultraviolet radiation. This can result in severe burns to the affected areas resulting in severe blistering and painful dermatitis. These blisters can develop into purplish or blackened scars. Proliferating populations in urban and suburban areas represents an increasing public health hazard. So basically...your skin blisters/rash/burns depending on how much sap touches your skin. Doesn't sound that bad? Well heres the kicker: your skin pretty much stay that way for apparently 2-3 yrs. So your skin that touched the sap can't see sunlight for the next 2-3 years. Pretty fucking gay right? The plant looks something like this. http://www.extension.iastate.edu/NR/rdonlyres/0B54510F-1353-418B-B515-A852B3CAA772/78316/Hogweed.jpg Link: Hogweed Edited August 22, 2009 by Suicide_Run

No_Remorse Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 I live in Niagara Falls so that must mean I better watch the fuck out! Poison Ivy is pretty uncomfortable and by pretty I mean very uncomfortable so I definitely want no part of this Hogweed...
No_Remorse Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 Next time you're taking a dump in the woods make sure you don't wipe your ass with one of these leaves.
Corey Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 I'm a hogweed farmer, I've got about 32 in my backyard, and they all have names. One even lives in my house, it looks perttey.
Hakaku Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 It looks like plants that grow around here and used to decorate bouquets, but there's like 60 diff species of hogweed, so I doubt we have giant hogweeds.
