»Lynx Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 Wow sama, I just opened up that link... Your system sucks. It's like, right at the sucks end of the bar... Quote
Suicide_Run Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 I highly doubt the common system performance at that site is really "common" with 17k points. I only got 5100 VirtualMarks =( Quote
Hakaku Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 Well for that matter, I think I win at 800 VirtualMarks. Quote
Samapico Posted August 22, 2009 Author Report Posted August 22, 2009 Yeah... i7 CPU with a 285 ... you surely can run ANY game at highest settings with that. On 2 monitors. Also... the 'Best system' has like 2GB of RAM? ... wut? ... and a CPU overclocked to 5 GHz, wtf Quote
oid Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) Yeah... i7 CPU with a 285 ... you surely can run ANY game at highest settings with that. On 2 monitors. rootbear75 Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) my laptop pulled 1200 virtualmarks. and its not even that good... however, i dont even know what one considers 1 VM I also think that "Best System" thing is a joke.. I suspect they overclocked it just be the best. Kind of like those Speed Limit signs with radar that tell you how fast you are going. Some people speed up to see if they can beat the "high score" Edited August 22, 2009 by rootbear75 Quote
rootbear75 Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 I got 200 VirtualMarks...maybe if your computer would stop cannibalizing itself, you might get more. (see Purge's avatar) Quote
»gallitin Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 Are you running it from the site or locally? Quote
Samapico Posted August 23, 2009 Author Report Posted August 23, 2009 The VirtualMarks test is ran on the site... so basically the ActiveX just detects your hardware, so it's not a very accurate test... The 3Dmarks06 test I ran, however, is something you download (about 500MB). The free version doesn't tell you that much (see my screenshot); with the registered version you can get more detailed specs like ... triangles per second, or crap like that. Quote
Samapico Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 RAM has been delivered, according to UPS tracking. weeeeee, can't wait to try it out. Though the GPU will be even more fun to try. Quote
NBVegita Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 BTW ty sama...I had forgotten that they still haven't disabled my MSDN license from college lol. nothing like free software! I wonder how much longer I'm going to have it...I haven't taken a college course in over 5 years... Quote
Samapico Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 That MSDN thing is awesome... I have 8 different windows licenses, all legal, for XP, vista and win7... and I could get MUCH more. You get like, XP english, XP french, XP english SP2, XP french SP2, XP english SP3, XP french SP3, Vista (same thing, languages, 32 bits, 64 bits, whatever), and I could have 4 different windows 7 licenses if I include the 64bits ones. NEW RAM IS IN... seems to go faster, so far it's just an impression... let's do the Everest tests again. OLD | NEW ---------------------------|--------- Memory Read: 5794 MB/s | 6024 MB/s Memory Write: 4158 MB/s | 4179 MB/s Memory Copy: 4066 MB/s | 4695 MB/s Memory Latency: 117.4 ns | 108.1 ns CPU Queen: 1591 | 2386 CPU PhotoWorxx: 2409 | 2894 CPU ZLib: 7941 KB/s | 7776 KB/s CPU AES: 1674 | 1319 FPU Julia: 694 | 701 FPU Mandel: 495 | 369 FPU SinJulia: 219 | 172 Basically, only the memory copy was consistently higher. The test lasts a few seconds, so it copies around a lot more than 1GB, which is probably why having 2GB speeds up that test. The CPU/FPU tests... have no idea what they do anyway, so they're just there. Quote
Samapico Posted August 31, 2009 Author Report Posted August 31, 2009 1247 3Dmarks - 1700 VirtualMarks it's now 3989 3Dmarks - 5800 VirtualMarks The demos in 3Dmarks were running at about 30 FPS, while they were at 3-5 FPS with my old card :S Quote
