Gannon8 Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 I was thinking about signing up for those sites that pay you to take a survey, like http://www.surveymoneymachines.com. I know they will spam you, so I was going to sign up for another account, but do they really work? How reliable are they?
Hakaku Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 There's a lot of sites like this, before you sign up, make sure that the website is completely legit. Look it up and make sure to check for non-propaganda user feedback. Be absolutely aware of 'membership' fees. If there are some, don't be gullible, turn back - it's a definite scam. (read this) To be honest though, you'll get tired of it really quickly and the little money you'll bring back won't really compensate for the time wasted. The numbers that they post up on their website are always superfluous.
rootbear75 Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 http://www.utalkback.com/ And they only send you as much email as they want. You get points for qualifying and participating in studies tailored to your interests. Then you can redeem those points for gift certificates for certain stores.
Samapico Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 So basically, you get paid by having to buy the stuff they want you to buy.
Acer Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Go download mcafee siteadvisor.. When you go to the website click the button and see what people say about it. You'll know if it's legit or not..
»Purge Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I use surveysavvy.com and greenfieldonline.com. They both work and I've made >$40 in the process, which is a pretty good wage for something I do in my spare time.
»Blocks Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 No survey site is a substitute for a real job. ...but, $40 isn't bad. How long did you spend doing that?
»Purge Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Every survey I do takes about 10-15 min. to complete on average. It's well worth the money since the longer surveys generally pay more for your time. MTV surveys actually give you Amazon.com money. I've done a few of those as well.
»Purge Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Obviously, that's how they sent me the check. So far no gimmicks, I still use those services.
»Lynx Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 cool, i might do it for the cash too then.
Gannon8 Posted August 19, 2009 Author Report Posted August 19, 2009 (edited) Go download mcafee siteadvisor.. When you go to the website click the button and see what people say about it. You'll know if it's legit or not..I downloaded that a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago. It's really useful. Pretty much the only thing you need for avoiding viruses Yeah, I don't have a job (I'm not unemployed, I'm 15, and what they don't know woln't hurt them ) and I need some money for a new laptop. Just wanted to see if I could bring in a little cash (if my parents let me ) Do you think if I enter a private domain for my email address under a different account, that it would still spam to my normal account on it? (ex if I had a spamme@yourdomain.com, it could email me at gannon8@yourdomain.com ?) Edited August 19, 2009 by Gannon8
»Purge Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 I just use Gmail to filter out the emails to surveys that only offer money.
Gannon8 Posted August 19, 2009 Author Report Posted August 19, 2009 I'm using Google apps' gmail for domains for my site Can't figure out all this postfix/courier crap. Yeah, gmail has awesome filtering capabilities. Much better than that exite.com we used to have.
rootbear75 Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Yeah, I don't have a job (I'm not unemployed, I'm 15, and what they don't know woln't hurt them )you have to be 18 to do these legally i thinkbut hey... i'm not your parents...
Gannon8 Posted August 22, 2009 Author Report Posted August 22, 2009 I tried greenfieldonline.com. 10 surveys later I got no money. Bunch of sweepstakes entries and no way to skip them http://www.utalkback.com/ And they only send you as much email as they want. You get points for qualifying and participating in studies tailored to your interests. Then you can redeem those points for gift certificates for certain stores.Looks like its invitation only. Says ages 13+ too Can you invite me or do they have to invite me?
»Purge Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 You have to wait till they actually send you surveys. Most of the ones on the site are sweepstakes only. And make sure you complete your profile.
