Fox News is obviously not in the running for hosting the Geography Bee any time soon.

From the July 27 edition of Fox News' The Live Desk:

Watch long enough and anyone will screw up.

HOLY SHIT that's faster than in Star Trek (I think... not sure.... I might get attacked by nerds :S )

And yeah... screwing up a map is just... FAIL. One would think with all their technology and touchscreen boards with finger-zoom and crap, they'd have at least one big (correct) map and they could just pan it where they want and add titles if they want to.

This doesnt do a lot of good for the sterotype of "most americans are not aware of the world beyond their own borders"...

Yeah... someone will say 'I know Egypt is 'THERE', I've seen it on the news'

That means Columbia was traveling at a rate of 3353076 per second or roughly from here to the Sun in 27 seconds or here to mars in just under 11 seconds or roughly 74.558 hours from here to Proxima Centauri or 166666.66 years from here to the Pegasus galaxy or.... *SLAP* ok, shuting up now.

... ?

Are those miles per second? If so, gtfo and learn real units blum.gif

5400000 km/s

Americans use imperial as opposed to metric because metric uses bigger numbers to compensate for certain shortcomings.

For instance, a 7" penis doesn't seem like much compared to a 17.8 penis. But the rest of the world has to use CM to make theirs seem bigger.

"Mister American, how long is your penis? Mine is 17.8 long"

"Really? Wow! Mine is only seven inches..."

See how it helps a foreigner feel better about themselves, until they realize that they've got the same size penis but measured in different standards?

lol the map was right...it was just the labeling that was wrong.

Doesn't really upset me because there are problems in all facets of the news.

To me that is no bigger a deal than the image DR. B. posted.
