Not looking to belittle your accomplishments since I don't even know who you are, but this thread looks like a thinly veiled attention whoring thread.

First thing I wrote from second post:

It's rather a thinly veiled method of getting people to start paying attention to Deva; in other words, as I've made clear, I can't go on making absolutely every single update as I have for the past several months. I want help. Devastation needs active players, staff, and developpers of all sorts. We need new and fresh ideas, people to post on the forums. And the only way I could accomplish this was to create a hypothetical end-of-the-world scenerio.

 

Plus I have never left devastation chat all these years. How come you never mentioned me!

But anyhow, asides the minor complaints, a number of personal attacks, having Deva accused as a safe harbour for cheaters and threatened to be shut down, here's a fair neutral message from former sysop SG-538 Psycho Drone: "Jesus christ, you have no players. You think I dont know how shitty of a job youre doing but I know your pop is generally Anna idling."

 

Do not take what I am about to say the wrong way. With that said -- Just the fact that you called me neutral shows you have no idea how the fuck I rolled in this zone. I guess what I'm trying to say, is no matter how much you fuck around with your bots and minor improvements, it means nothing unless you play and generate an atmosphere. Whether people loved me or hated me, it doesn't matter. I had a different approach... I generated a very high level of competition and desire to be a better player in that zone. I'm not trying to come off as arrogant, but the Obsidian age took it to another level and I went out of my way to bring others with me to reach those very ends of competition and comradery. There is a lot of history in deva, much of which you may not know, and believe me, we don't look back fondly and think about the fucking tileset.

 

You've done a lot for the zone and I'm sure people appreciate that. I get that you want a pat on the back. Look, if anyone deserves a pat on the back it's XDOOM for putting up with all our shit, probably from me most of all. To this day I don't think he's genuinely gotten any tear jerkers. You scraped by with 10 months so far? My comment on the front page was a joke for the vets. It wasn't even addressed to you and you provided a very awkward social grace. The leaders of deva go back a long ways ...an ancient race of sentient robots... called the Primes. Well, yeah, I guess that's transformers. But the point is we all dealt with it. If you take anything from my words, suck it up and keep on trucking.

 

Looking back at it all, you always played for your brothers. I don't expect everyone to always understand that. From Kuja seeing his first pair of tits to XDOOM's borderline dangerous obsession with Mara_Jade... We were all ultimately equal in our dysfunctional family, even if we didn't always show it. People have lives now. They didn't then. It's do or die time, bro.

atmosphere is definitely what makes or breaks a zone. keep in mind that subspace has about half the population that it did back in the day. hakaku is the da boss, ok, and this topic is fuckin ingenious -- just what we need to make people realize deva is still on the map. all i'm saying is that when deva is gone, so am i. so do it for NR =)
