No ship changing to regain prizes or to avoid anti

What the -*BAD WORD*- is this rule anyways...I'm in the zone talking to 4 jerkfaces right now who are complaing because I ship change to regain prizes...They are one to talk...the hunt in a pack of 4 and except you to just sit there and be destroyed...THEY ANGERED ME SO MUCH I SIGNED UP FOR THIS FORUM TO RANT AND RAVE WITH PURPOSE...but...I digress...that's besides the point...

Anyways, I acknowledge the fact that I did break that rule, however, truth be told, I never knew that was a rule.

Firstly, I would like somone to explain to me why that rule is put in place? Why is it such a big deal if someone switches ships to regain prizes. I know this may come as a shock to some people, but...belive it or not, THIS HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME, IN MANY MANY OTHER ZONES. I know I know, I'm shocked too *scarcasm*

Secondly, The reason why I question this rule is because of the amount of loop holes around it. I don't think it would be justified in someone being punished for disobeying this rule, when they can have a host of legitimate excuses lined up.

For example, Let's say I'm in my warbird, I happen to use all the prizes just to TEST them out on some enemies that were chasing me. Suddenly, I realize that the warbird sucks, and I would care to not use it anymore as my ship of choice. As such, I switch to a different ship, and use it for some time, say...10 seconds. Using this ship I realize it has terrible manuvering capabilities, and my one true love, my beloved warbird, is the ship for me. Then, I decide to switch back to my warbird, oh, and look, it has the prizes renewed...can I really be blamed for this? it's not my fault it has the prizes there.

Honestly now, if you want to be more effective with this rule, you can just eliminate all items from a ship, and make people have to green for their ship specific items. However, I doubt a lot of people would be fond of this idea...moving along now...

Another reason people might ship change is to avoid death...AND to regain there prizes. You know, they could easily do this in a different way. Since you only need HALF your energy to quit the zone, you can simply outrun your attackers for a little bit, QUIT, and then rejoin...and pick a ship of your choice...one that will have renewed prizes no doubt, and be on your merry way...then what is a moderator suppose to do, ban you, HAH, maybe you have connection problems, maybe your internet sucks, maybe your annnoying baby sister is messing with your keyboard, or your can is stepping on the keys, JUST MAYBE...

As for the antiwarp thing, well, I think that part of the rule is okay, but, people have been doing it for ages, get over it.

In conclusion, it's simply not worth stressing over. You see all these idiots, like the 4 in the zone today, that were getting SO ANGRY and making fantasy claims of reporting people over it. WHY BOTHER??? People have been doing it before, people will continue to do it, the rule is hard to maintain because of the many loop holes ppl will then begin to ensue. Just relax, play the game, if people do that, then let them, you can live in the soft comfort that you are a gamer with etiquette, while those people are people of low standards, poor sportsmanship, and the like...

this rule is designed to stop people from becoming retartedly overpowered. it is supposed to stop spiders from flying into a pack of enemies, bursting, warping out, then changing to a wb and back to spider to get their specials back and do it again, racking up kills and completely avoiding death. or to stop a shark from bricking to lock down a base, then switching to wb and back to shark when the bricks are gone so they can do it again. or to stop levs from m!@#$%^&*-murdering with an unlimited supply of thors.

well, atleast thats what i think the rule is for...and it makes sense. sure people might do it at times, but what is the point of playing, and trying to get better to perfect the use of a ship, when you can continuosly shipchange to have a limitless supply of specials and blow the -*BAD WORD*- out of anyone in your base without any real effort or skills? kinda defeats the point of the game if you ask me...

Smurf pretty much sums it up.

And about the esc thing, if you do it once, we really won't do much, maybe a warn, but if you continually do it, you will either sit in spec until your "connection" gets better, move your cat away, or yes, you will get a minor ban.

Gprime your message has just summed you up as a idiot. Do you even NEED to think of why its bad? Its pretty obvious why ship changing for prizes is bad. You want to gain your prizes back, go kamikaze yourself, but switching not only is bad sportsmanshi, regains your prizes even though you used these special things, but if someone else is chasing you and you switch to avoid death or damage then you are breaking a second rule.

You have just targetted yourself as someone we must watch if your willing to cheat and can see no wrong doing in it.

Go figure the reason why the rules are put there in the first place!

Your message should read, "Gprime, your message just summed you up as an idiot." The vowel sound of the "I" in "idiot" means that the word should be preceded by "an" instead of "a".

Yes, you call people idiots when you can't even formulate proper sentences.

Did I say I'm a cheater? Did I say I find no wrong in the "rules" I break? No...no I didn't. I never even knew that was a rule, up until now.

Smurf summed up while the rule is there, a noble cause indeed. However, I'm stating it's rather pointless as you won't be able to track down everyone that does it, AND, how are you suppose to punish them when they can have so many excuses lined up. Just look at 000, I doubt he felt he was breaking some soft or a rule with what he's doing, maybe the guy just likes to use ships.

000 also brings up a good point. Let's say he uses his spider, gets bored and switches to another ship, for his own choosing. He uses it for a bit, and then gets bored, so wants to change back. How long is long enough so that it's not rule breaking. Really, how do you plan to effectively enforce this rule?

P.S. Completely bursting out and flaming other peoples posts, unprovoked mind you, is really bad netiquette. If this is what represents the playing population of your zone, then may God help us all. It is people like you (DaKillaRoach) that ruin it for everyone else. I asked why the rule was in place, and I felt it was stupid because of the aforementioned reasons. How does that warrant me for your petty name calling and threats of watching me. You disgust me.

I mean Roach, what are you, honestly. Do you like to comform to society? So just because the rule is there, am I suppose to follow it unquestioned? You sheep. Bend to the will of others why don't you.

Honestly if it happens a few times, we don't really worry about it, in case you like to use more than one ship, normally it becomes a bother once something comes to our attention, because that means you're doing it more than once or twice, and that our attention, and the players attention is grabbed. And as always, if we catch you doint it, we'll warn ya first, so chances are ya prolly won't get banned for it, unless you're a real thick guy, which you don't appear to be.

People like to change ships, yes, but if they switch to a ship then back to their previous within a few seconds, well I think they are going for the prizes and nothing else hmm?

The bit that makes me laugh is this!

So just because the rule is there, am I suppose to follow it unquestioned?
How do I sum this up? Yes! You follow the rules of the zone or suffer the consequences that are dealt to you, and if you cant see well, i'm sure you can think of some certain words for it.

Now you say about the excuses, what sort of little sister is going to press esc and then the correct number to switch you back and fore, I know fully well that kids dont just press the buttons if your playing a game, and not anything that can affect game play.

If you quit, the person chasing you will report you for it, and we will then watch you until you try it again.

And bad internet connection or lag? Well we have powers, we only gotta spec you and we see your lag, and can check your ?lag also to get all details like current, high, low, average, Ploss and WLag

There are only a very few excuses you can use a FEW times before we start to suspect things, and if you see no wrong in doing it, then you are just getting yourself a possible target of being watched for your antics

I mean Roach, what are you, honestly. Do you like to comform to society? So just because the rule is there, am I suppose to follow it unquestioned? You sheep. Bend to the will of others why don't you.

I am a lower member of staff, I have to especially, like everyone else who should, obey the rules to a point, but switching ships for extra specials is cheating, and cheating is bad. You are using a unfair advantage to gain extra specials against others who do not wish to cheat on such a game.

I dont need to say anything else about this. My point is summed up in your first post, and if you cant under stand why the rule is there, and that you see no wrong in breaking it, then in the words of a popular movie on Newgrounds.

GPrime, you, are a -*BAD WORD*-ing moron!

Good Night

then you can say -*BAD WORD*-, balls, -*BAD WORD*-, -*BAD WORD*-, -*BAD WORD*-, -*BAD WORD*- all you want!

you dumb -*BAD WORD*-

and this is why gprime is master of tradition's week!!! fear! B)

but really, there is no way that anyone who is playing can determine if someone's ship changing to get back specials, as they could have died, which is hard to catch unless you set your kills to chat and are willing to scroll through alot to find what you want; done as has been said and been another ship for a while, and changed back; or greened their specials back.

the only way you can be 100% sure on this rule is to spec the person and watch every move they make... because it only takes a few tenths of a second to ship change for specials. and even then, the person getting watched can use the ?spec command, although i dont think that shows mods.

it's one of those rules that if you want to have taken seriously you have to have some super active mod in pub all the time watching the game from spec, not in ticker.
