General Shadow Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 When i try and open DCME, it asks to install something and starts searching for a file named sku112.cab. When it cant find it, it says comct332.ocx can not be supported, and the program closes. I have a 64 bit Home Premium Vista laptop if that helps any. -General Lucas Shadow
Samapico Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 Did you try downloading the comctl32.ocx file? You can get it in the downloads section here. Put it in the same folder as DCME. The sku112.cab file appears to be an installation file of Office, though... I have no idea why it would search for it.

Otherwise, i cant find where to download it.
Samapico Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 ...http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?app=downloads&showcat=4 I obviously meant comct332.ocx
General Shadow Posted July 12, 2009 Author Report Posted July 12, 2009 Yes, i have that file, as well as all the other "Required Files" in the same folder as the DCME application. Is there an older version of DCME i could use without this problem?
Drake7707 Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 have you tried running it in win xp sp2 compatibility mode ? I don't have much experience with vb6 dependencies in Vista :/
General Shadow Posted July 13, 2009 Author Report Posted July 13, 2009 Thanks Drake, that got it working For the record and future reference, the files i had were as follows: COMCT332.OCX, msinet.ocx, zlib.dll, COMDLG32.OCX, and the DCME application. For all the files, i had to right click, select Properties, and click Unblock, then Apply. I then right clicked the DCME app, went to compatability mode xp sp2, and Applied settings. It then worked Thanks again Drake, and Samapico, for your help. -General Lucas Shadow
Samapico Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Cool, you're not the only one who had trouble with Vista+DCME, this will certainly help.
General Shadow Posted July 14, 2009 Author Report Posted July 14, 2009 One other thing, when did DCME start using paint when editing tiles?
Samapico Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Since the tile editor I had made was full of bugs and I didn't want to continue supporting it. But you can specify any other program you want, like GIMP or whatever, if you check the preferences, file associations tab.On a side note, I'm glad it seems to open Paint correctly on Vista lol... had no way to check, really. Maybe I'll compile the old tile editor we had in its own exe, and make it available for download if people still want to use it.But I strongly recommend GIMP, it's free, and it's not bugged like my editor
General Shadow Posted July 14, 2009 Author Report Posted July 14, 2009 The only reason i asked was because i liked the old tile editor. I would like to be able to download it if you do make that avaliabe. Ill try out GIMP though and see how that works. Thanks
