Drake7707 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 (edited) tie's are old fashioned , unless it's a high end job noone wears a tie anymore. I did a few times for my internship presentation but meh, they are more annoying than aestetically pleasing. Edit: oh wait, date, i thought job. Never done that before, so wouldn't know what's best Edited July 6, 2009 by Drake7707 Quote
darkreb0rn Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I'm more of a sweat pants and hoodie kinda guy when it comes to first dates Quote

Hakaku Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I absolutely loathe wearing formal clothes. The only time I was comfortable with wearing a tie & all was in Japan. Quote
Trained Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Ive worn a tie once in my life, and that was when I went to my girlfriends prom in May of 08, and I didn't like it. Quote
CRe Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I wear ties all the time, they're not old fashioned. Yeah I do too but I consider them the most useless piece of fabric ever made. Quote
»Lynx Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I used to wear them for work, I wear them when I go to anything formal, sometimes wear them when I wear certain shirts... Quote

Trained Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 I dont know how. And there was actually a good point somewhere someone stated, how often do you wash your tie? Quote
Samapico Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 At least once per times you puke on it after a long party Quote

Samapico Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I have my tie already made, and just... slide my head in when I need it (once a year?) I remember following instructions from a website to make it though, and I sucked. A lot. Quote
No_Remorse Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 At least once per times you puke on it after a long party That's the spirit. Quote
Bak Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I have my tie already made, and just... slide my head in when I need it (once a year?)same, although where are you going on first dates that you need a tie? Quote
»Lynx Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 Yeah, sounds like an uncomfortable first date. I take mine to McDonalds. Quote
NBVegita Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I guess it depends on how old you are and where you're taking her for a date. If you're 16 taking her to dinner and a movie, probably not a good idea to wear a tie. Now if you're 25 taking her to a Broadway play and a 5* dinner, then I would recommend one. As for dressing formal, I don't see why people are so against it. Just a tip for all the youngins out there, right now girls think its cool to dress like a slob, but as you get older, girls want you to dress nicer. Hell its much easier to pick up a chick just about anywhere in a nice pair of jeans or slacks with a button up, even buttoned loosely (mind you it has to actually fit and not be 4 sizes too big) than it is in some baggy ol' sweats. oh and bathing helps too Quote
Lisa Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 I don't really like ties on men, suits with the top shirt button undone is nice, but I find suits with ties a bit O.T.T sometimes. Although there are some many uses for them, other than wearing them Quote
