Diwa Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 A WIP concept client skin i whipped up; to match the Subspace Online site: <> I like that... Keeps everything in the same place so it is still familiar to navigate. I'd use it if you made it I'm going to keep adding to my GFX Package that I started a while back. Or maybe stat new. I'm going to keep it separate from this project tho. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted July 10, 2009 Author Report Posted July 10, 2009 (edited) Dr. brain just does not understand that this isnt just for the sake of change, it's to keep us going longer, and to make the game a little less stale. It's a good thing dude. Also, LTH can you upload a zip of the .skn, the .ini of the skin you made? Ill need it to make it default. -_O Edit: arrgh Doc yo get off continuum too fast (need to ask something) >.> Edited July 10, 2009 by jabjabjab Quote

Samapico Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 However, we might want to design new graphics/sounds for DiscretionWe could do much nicer things because of the alpha channel for transparency, and one day or another, Bak will need graphics. We probably could have different explosions too, smaller ones for smaller bombs, and bigger booms for larger bombs, for example. Quote
MillenniumMan Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 This is akin to something T4 and I tried a few years ago, revamping Continuum's graphics, doing a full update on its look and feel. Now that the newer shipsets are coming together, how about something that'll allow us to change the size of the side icons (Lbullets and the like showing our weapons status) from the 16x16 size icons to larger. I've devised smoketrails for the bombs so they have a psuedo-alpha channel appearance to them (translucent over backgrounds), new ships, bombs, mines, flags, bullets, planets, blah blah. When I get home, I'll see what you've packed in these rar files Jab. Quote

We probably could have different explosions too, smaller ones for smaller bombs, and bigger booms for larger bombs, for example. I knew for a while that Discretion handled alpha channels and originally was going to make graphics for discretion for fun. But I couldn't figure out how to get the alpha channels to show up in Discretion. The graphics I made for Continuum/Subspace, I had to do a dithering/checker pattern to simulate transparency, and it looks pretty ugly when there isn't a lot of action going on. Though, in fast paced areas, it's not too bad. I want to make my way to the Discretion forums and figure this out Maybe I can help over there...? Quote

»jabjabjab Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 Just a update note: Ships are still deep in development, and some things are just being sluffed off until the big parts of the project are done. Im going to remove alot of crap i added due to the fact that i added alot for no reason. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted September 28, 2009 Author Report Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) Going to add a cool feature of a stand-alone front-end program (thor patcher) that can be able to patch any client files and show news before launching continuum. (2ndary launcher) Screenshot of a layout I made: http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss31/XDreamersMS/Continuum-FrontEndlayout2.png EDIT: I need a simple program done in C++ that can load simple text from a HTML page and show it on the box in the front-end program, as well as launch continuum on the arrow button, and load a browser with the link to subspaceonline.com. OOoo and maybe make it so that i can load different backgrounds like how www.bing.com does their search engine. we can go anywhere with this, but all I need is a simple program to do these specific things. »jabjabjab Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 Okay here's a workable program done by AdaM. It has a test web-page on it. Place it inside your continuum folder and try it out!SubSpace Launcher.exe Quote
