Obviously you've never used a quality wireless mouse. I've got an MX Revolution, and an MX 1000 before that. Both very, very good wireless mice. There's no noticeable lag. The only downside is you have to recharge them periodically. I'd probably get a G9 if I bought a new mouse today, since it doesn't have the recharging issue, but still has the selectable frictionless scrolling of the MX Revolution (a totally awesome feature). I'd assume it still slows down, but it just doesn't have these 'clicks' However, is it something you can toggle? Technically, yes, there is friction, but you can scroll 50-100 pages before it stops moving and the clicks reengage. You can always give it another spin to keep it going before that happens, too. If you're looking for a specific page, it's easy to stop it very close to where you want. You can set up one of the multitude of buttons to toggle the mode manually so you can start scrolling without friction immediately, or start clicking immediately, though I rarely use this feature.
