silverbullet Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) Alright Arnk says that I have to keep my posts up so that people learn from this in case they ever encounter these problems so here we go: Well I forgot all the info that I posted up here but I'll re-post everything i remember.I couldn't open chatnut because it would give me an error message immediately after i double clicked it.The error message read as follows: Could not find the main class chatnut.main.Main. Program Will now close. I re-downloaded the chatnut file once more to make sure i did not get a corrupted version of chatnut but I still received the error message. Then i downloaded/installed sun java to make sure that was not the problem either, all to no avail. However in the end it turns out that my java was in fact corrupted. Then why did my java not get fixed the first time I re-installed it?Well you see, when your java is updated, java installs another update separate from the other past updates. What I mean from this is that in your "Programs and features list" you might find "Java Update 7", "Java Update 8", "Java Update 14" and so on. As you upgrade your java the past updates are left in your computer. So how do you ultimately fix this? You have to make sure that you uninstall all of the Java Updates and components, ALL OF THEM, otherwise you will continue to have problems with your java. Once that's done, simply reinstall java anew from http://java.com/en/ I hope this makes you a happier person Arnk. PS: The odd thing was that past java applications worked perfectly fine until I ran across chatnut. Edited July 4, 2009 by SilverBul!et Quote
