Guest Tank55 Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Alright, well thanks to anybody that comes and checks to help me out first off. I have two issues dealing with the game so far, I am on a ship, Navy guy, and I had played this game a long time ago so i decided why not download it and pass some time and get "reunited" with it once again(years ago when I started.) I was wondering if there was a way I could relocate my password for Tank55 on the game and when downloading the main servers (Trenchwars, etc.) I have an issue of it not loading them(I do understand it may be that the server is down for the moment for maintenace, but am wondering if that may possibly not be the case for me now since I just redownloaded, am on a Naval ship and if maybe there was a server to download servers which i did not recieve with the initial download(sscentral.sscuservers.net sscentral.trenchwars.org.) Thanks again.
Samapico Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Check the pinned topic for working directory servers, put them in the 'Directory servers' input box in the download dialog, separated by commas As for your password, some names get reset if they are not used in a while and don't have much usage time. If it's not reset yet, however, you could get in with another name and use ?lostpassword Tank55 ; if you provided a correct e-mail address when you registered it, password will be sent to you.I'm at work right now, so I can'T tell, but if you do ?find Tank55 it will also tell you if the name still exists.
Guest Tank55 Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 So I have the zones loaded... but when I attempt to download them when I open up the 'zones' file on the game's main screen, they say just 0%. Not sure if that means they won't load up or what.
Hakaku Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 What version of Continuum are you using? Make sure it's 0.40 After you download a zone off the directory list, make sure its name appears green in your list. You should be able to enter the zone and download without a problem, unless something such as a firewall is preventing your computer from downloading the necessary files. Have you tried other zones?
Guest Tank55 Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 I have tried other zones. They show green as well, but it shows 0 players and doesnt "download" when i click the button for it too. Also, if i put another program in front all the zones are red when I go back. I don't know, maybe it's a firewall put on my ship's lan connection.
Samapico Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 After you refresh the zones list, all zones will appear green for a moment even if they should be red... Just wait like 10 seconds and they will turn red if you can't communicate with them. It's not impossible that you're simply restricted; you usually can't play from a school or public places, so maybe they blocked the same things on your ship.
rootbear75 Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 It's not impossible that you're simply restricted; you usually can't play from a school or public places, so maybe they blocked the same things on your ship. That's probably not too far off. Since you are on a ship, in what some people would call "Combat Zone"; they probably restrict / block ALL ports except for what is necessary to run the ships computers, navigation, and weapons.Talk to your ship's network administrator, and explain the situation to him. He might be able to help you.
Samapico Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 Tell them you found a way to sabotage the enemy's space vessels, you just need to connect on Continuum and you'll blow up their mothership.
JoWie Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 if you really want to play, set up a SOCKS or SSH server at home, and run one of those from port . That should work unless they do some kind of packet inspection. doubles your lag tho
