Loaning System

I think that having a loaning system in the zone would enhance ones HS experience. This is a long post so bear with me.

 

I have two different but similar ideas.

 

-----The first one is a bank supported system, in which the money suppliers (hs players) put their money into a bank, a bot or the server itself(if asss is possible), and the money sits there waiting for players who need to loan.

 

-----The second one is a direct, player to player trade aided by server commands or a bot. In this system both players have already talked to each other and know how much their lending/borrowing and through the server they manage to make the loan.

 

Things to note:

 

-----A big concern would be that players aren't repaying their loans. Two solutions that I can think of are:

----------1. There could be a time span in which the borrower doesn't have to pay money, but CAN. After that time span, all the money that they EARN by playing is transferred to the player that lent the money. For example, A player Johnny borrows money from player Rick. Player Johnny does not repay his loans after two weeks, so after those two weeks, player Johnny notices that the money he is earning is automatically given to player Rick.

----------2. After a time limit has passed, the player will be able to keep his earnings but will not be able to buy anything until he has re-payed the loans.

 

 

-----Depending on experience there should perhaps be limits on how much a player can loan. A player who plays rarely and has little experience should not be able to borrow a lot of money because it will hurt both him because he will not be able to repay the loan, and the loaner because he will not be getting his money back.

 

-----A player would and should only be allowed to be involved in one loan for obvious reasons like the one above of people borrowing more than they can handle. This also helps because that way people will not be getting loans to repay other loans A.k.A a financial mess.

 

-----A player would not be able to give money while the loan is active (and has not been repaid yet) in order to avoid players from loaning with aliases and giving the money to their main accounts. In basic terms, this will prevent the moving and transferring of money in suspicious and 'illegal' ways. However, a player may in fact RECEIVE money from other players/friends in hs who want to help him repay the loan.

 

-----There should be an option for the lender to forgive the loan. Hey, although its not darn likely, perhaps a bro wants to help another one out by letting him off the hook, yah know?

 

 

Well, I have to go so this is the basic stuff that I came up with right now, maybe I will update. Please give info/ criticize, because we all want to make hs better. I know the above can sound complicated but think about how it would work in the game. Once again, feedback/critique is welcome so that we can make this idea better or simply you can criticize to shun this idea because you think its the worst thing that anyone could have ever conceived.

Is there any place I can learn about the HS-Bank that's returning. Is it the same as before?

Having as much money as you could ever want only sounds like fun. It actually isn't any fun at all. This is why I will never support a zone sponsored banking system.

you have to have collateral in order to loan, and good credit from making smaller loans first.

You shouldn't be able to use ?give as long as you have debts, then. Except to the person who loaned you, of course.

ASSS isn't that stupid, it can't be all that hard to, instead of an alias, use an IP (Same way ?alias does I guess) or whatever instead.

So then getting that alias means your earnings still go to mr. Rick.

 

Also, I'm ok with making a bot for this if it ever happens. Which reminds me - How about being able to specify interest? That way a (bot) bank could function a bit more properly, and give out profit in a dynamic interest rate.

"ASSS isn't that stupid", but apparently you are. IP based checks are the second easiest things to get around. There are thousands of proxy sites littering the web.

 

It will never be zone sponsored. Feel free to loan out your own money at whatever rate you like, though. Good luck getting it back, though.

I voted no. The reason behind this is similar to what doc stated. It's not going to be fun to have all the money you can possibly want at your fingertips. The fun of this zone comes from WORKING for your money. You all see players get flamed in chat when they beg for money, so whats the difference of asking for a loan of the amount of your choice? Yes, you have to pay the money back in the time allotted but where is the fun/satisfaction in making money to pay it back?

Emmm... I thought this was about a loan system between players, which is much different.

It just makes sure the other person pays you back, and he could not ?give money to anyone else (including other aliases) until his debt his paid off.

Loaning money does sound like a great idea at first however what most people don't realize is that hs money is so ridiculously ez to make that there is really no point in borrowing from another player

Only fools or noobs borrow monies that they could have easily saved up for in a week or so

Why the hell would you go on the web while driving? Better yet, why would you go on SSFORUMS while surfing the interwebs on a ballberry?

why not have loan maximums based on the total value of your assets?

 

tl;dr: 1 ship = $100, 8 ships = over $9000

 

additionally, why not have a time period agreement so that any money made from kills goes to the payor after the delay until the debt is paid off?

Whose hosting the 24/7 bank bot?

Even if you had someone to host it, which would probably be an easy thing to find from what I can see of the kids sitting in spec all day... -.-

Even if you had that someone who was trustworthy, what of it? Money is already a silly thing in hs due to it's simplicity and general easy-ness to acquire, use, and re-make in a span of a week or less if you are a dedicated player.

Why use a bot for something that is already pretty well taken care of by the players.

If you are moronic enough to loan or trust your money to someone you don't know and they don't pay you back then that is your loss.

Don't worry though, you'll earn get it back within the week.

I didn't feel like debugging why a ton of money was forgotten by HS-Bank in a seemingly nonrepeatable incident I decided not to bring the bank online and I probably never will again. Either way it's just +1 thing that could be nice but people overconsume so it dies faster, so it's no skin off my back. I recommend no one else try making a bank because you will need to do too much to make it a reliable system, and then you'll have these players to deal with. Concerning other future banks, remember that all bots are a scam until proven innocent, guys. No one's going to go to the trouble to make a reliable transactions system even if they were trying to be legit, so don't trust your money there.

perhaps they might see "Your $29 for killing Unix was sent to repay 's loan".
