From my experience, such an event would interesting to try out.

 

As mentioned, we would have to get enough players to make it interesting and exciting, which makes this a weekly event IMO.

 

Hosting it would be very easy for the hosts, as all they would have to do is to even the teams and be on the lookout for "unserious" players.

I do doubt there would be many of them, as most of them are generally newbies who only know how to enter zones and fire weapons...

 

An additional benefit of such an event is to increase the interest of having a (possible) future pub league.

I have noticed that very many players are interested in having such a league, and I believe it would be good for the zone since it becomes more colorful. ( SBL/Rumble/etc. have one ship in common. )

 

To sum it all up :

 

Requirements :

1.Enough players.

2.Dedicated hosts.

3.It is a sucess.

 

Gain :

1.Increased interest of playing soccer in pub.

2.Builds up interest for a possible new future league.

3.A event which "serious" pub players would appreciate.

 

Now, in order to make such an event sucessful, it would mean that serious pub players should do their outmost to meet up at the event.

 

Also, it has to be properly announced, news.txt and the 17th parallel website for instance.

 

All in all, I believe the Staff should support this idea and take it into consideration.
