For the record I do not see why people act as if downloading something on SS is such an amazing ordeal, hence the macro which I had been using when other people were spamming when they were downloading the level earlier.

Also on a serious note, and I say this a lot, we're all players here. If you expect someone to treat you differently because they're staff you're out of your mind. Same thing goes for the other way around. I come here to play the game and have fun, and all the same I'm going to call out people who annoy me, like anyone else. This goes for all staff in all zones, with the exception of some who like to pretend this isn't a free game ran without compensation for operators, developers, moderators, etc. If you give up the identity of being a player (playing or chatting casually), then you no longer have any reason to be here. Same thing goes for people who are seeking certain abuse-pillows who won't say anything back to you (issssues.) Hey so isn't Sass overdue to talk about how HS sysops are all terrible people?

My views are I show absolute zero respect for a person like Arnk, but I do not hate him, that would be hating who somebody is, not them. I don't know him in person ... I would be judging him if I were to hate him, another thing I will rarely do.

 

And if you actually respect Arnk, than you are just as wrong as he is. Just look at him right now, somebody gets frustrated and quits the entire zone (he'll be back in a week anyway) and all he does is make himself look even worse and then start calling shots on me and omni, who share reasonable POV's.

So people are wrong for having a different viewpoint than you? Do you work for Fox News or something? Arnk might be somewhat less than polite at times (possible understatement), but really: y qq? Arnk is Arnk-- he's not a "Public Moderator," with whom you are expected to develop a mutual asskissing relationship; he's Arnk. He is a staff member, but he's also a subspace player. He has every right to laugh at you if you say something stupid, and every reason to continue if you then get all butthurt about it and "omg quit the zone forever." And really, there are plenty of jerks in Hyperspace; saying that Arnk is worse because he's staff is a silly and arbitrary distinction. Arnk keeps his roles as a player and a staffer very separate, and I think that's worthy of some merit right there. After all, he's putting up with us as much as we're putting up with him. He could be a total Nazi and silence you every time you hurt his feelings (like certain unnamed members of staff), but he chooses to deal with garbage as a player rather than as a staffer. He may be frustrating from time to time (and he certainly is), but I have quite a bit of respect for his character in that he's able to be "frustrating" without being "oppressive." He's having fun, and so should you. Why so serious, man?

Striking that I find you talking about me. Not all HS sysops are terrible people. Distort made an effort to speak with me about HS and this rectified a lot of things, so kudos to him for making things right. However, most people on ss won't do that - especially you. You're more interested in trying to prove you're right than anything else. You'll spin, twist, and basically say anything you can to try to make yourself look good. You haven't figured out that this is how people see you.

 

Sadly, all the work you put into HS turns to total shit. Not because you programmed it wrong - actually I think your ideas have worked well for the zone - but the way you come across buries any chance of gaining respect. If you'd just shut up for a while and hear people out rather than thinking everything is a personal attack on you, you'll get further ahead. I get to thinking that you've been personally trained by Dick Cheney.
