Testtube Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) The files do not need to be mirrored. Infact the files was never "offline" Granted it made accessing them more difficult The files where still accessible from direct downloads. If you want to come up with another method of serving the content through a improved interface i am open to that. If down the road the files "need" to be mirrored i can provide that on one of my servers i have @ another data center. Edited June 13, 2009 by Testtube
L.C. Posted June 13, 2009 Author Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) But mirroring them to the listed kinds of file hosting places would not only serve as a mirror, but expand the game's and community's ground and visibility. I don't think it would hurt anyone in any way if I did mirror them to those places. At the same time, it would serve as advertising the same way as if you went and told your friends about it, just in a different manner. If anything, it would only be gain. I am willing to go and do this based off of my own willingness and love for Subspace. Edited June 13, 2009 by L.C.
Testtube Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 I dont see how adding anything but the exe to download and install the game to those site will help If you want to download the installer and put it else where go for it.
»jabjabjab Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) This is such a rediculous fight.. Testtube's site is his site, and all the content held within is his decision to do as he wishes. He decided this a long time ago L.C. so please don't make a fool of yourself. Testtube, we also rely heavaly on your site (im pretty sure you know this) so I'll be waiting to use it once more. Now scilence, gaa freaking hissy fits over the smallest of things.. Edit: LOL STATIC BURN is that you in your avatar!? (if it is, dayum) Edited June 13, 2009 by jabjabjab
L.C. Posted June 13, 2009 Author Report Posted June 13, 2009 Bug: When clicking on the Download button for any of the files, I get a blank page.Example: http://www.subspacedownloads.com/download.php?fid=1109
Sketter Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) In the middle here. TT has the right to reject your request. And your arrogance of "i will succeed no matter what you do" isn't appreciated or help your case. I would also reject you based on a bad first impression. You want people to work with you, act accordingly. Making things public on this forum to gain public support in this case is a fail.We all know TT can be stubborn, this won't make change Last, the site is back up. Nothing he can do now to stop you form just d/ling the content off SSDL and do what you wanted to do.I understand that before you couldn't, but your can't jump down on TT for doing what he wants with content he collected over the years. The files were down for several days (before today when you said it was fixed), at least this one was: http://www.subspacedownloads.com/download.php?fid=1335 PS. no jabjabjab... Samapico Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 Just having the continuum installer and a few other key files uploaded to these other sites could give us some extra clicks... I doubt having all these skins and tilesets and shipsets would do much. I think TT misinterpreted LC's demand because it was in a topic about SSDL being down... But yeah, I don't think mirroring 'all' the files is necessary, or that it would have any effect on visibility. Take the 10 or so most downloaded files, and put these up (except DCME... take the latest version )
