Zone Advertisements

As SubSpace Online gets ready to come online here shortly, we will be adding back an old function we use to have around here. Zone ads. Only this time they'll be a bit different. They won't be focused on just advertising a zone and its website, they'll be all about events. Any special events your zone is having, you just gotta have a 224 x 166 image made, and gimme the zone name, and I'll add it to the rotation.

 

It will only be on SubSpace Online to begin with, though I do plan to find a way to integrate it into SSF over time.

 

All you need is a 224 x 166 img with information on the event. No animations, just a plain banner. Design it as you please, just make sure to have the event name and where and when in it. Also give me a link to information on it, a thread on it, or just your zones website. I will add the zone name to the advertisement.

Can you make it automatically remove outdated events of the rotation too? Like a couple of days after the event or something

Maybe we could have some standard banner that we could put any text on it for various events, like for smaller zones who don't really have someone to make them a specific banner.

Or Larry could make a bunch of them

But yeah, re-usable banners could mean that zones would actually advertise more, instead of having to make themselves a banner for every event they want to advertise.

Yea, just have pre-made banners, and then you can just write text on them, thats so much more easier.

Oh come on, Zoner doesn't exist any more. O_o Why keep their material in the dark? They should be happy that they are remembered and their material is being used for a good purpose and cause (the same one?).

I tried to get Possum! to revive it a few years back, but haven't heard from her in ages. She was the one who showed me SS was still alive and Extreme Games back in a class we had together.

 

I still have all the files, and honestly was one of the areas I planned to put under Entertainment. Not THE zoner, but the same idea.

That's really cool! Well, I never meant to hurt anyone or steal anything (I do not take any credit). I too really liked the comics of Zoner (and have a squad in SSC/Isometry "Zoners SVS"), and I have always found this one to be awesome -- I thought it would be cool if I bring back some memories to some people by using one of Zoners things while bringing some attention to Jackpot SVS (since it too carries on similar/the same nostalgic traits).

 

Do you want me to find/create/make up/change a/to another idea and not use this one from Zoner?

Long time no see, Sann from EG Just a quick question, when you say special events, do you mean something that's a one time thing/leagues or can it just be a daily subarena event such as teamelim, prized dueling whatsoever? Also is it one banner per event or one banner per zone?

I'd say any event that is scheduled for a particular date. Would be nice to have some kind of variety of events, and not just league stuff where only the "elite" compete.

I know TW does stuff like that all the time on weekends, those variety things..

Like TWCity, Zombies, BountyRabbit, CTF, Enigma, Gatez1/2/3, and many others i cant remember

Hey what up u.

 

Anything scheduled. Like if there is a time every day, or a time every week, etc. Leagues will just be sign ups and championship games.

 

But yeah, Teamelim would be fine, as that is 24/7.

 

Probably limit the number of ads depending on the size of the zone, like tw or eg 4-5, whereas some zone like say 17th Parallel, maybe 2.
