Guest Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Had 1200 bounty in EG along with prox when outta nowhere my laptop completely turns off (no cords got unplugged or anything), so I'm pissed as you can guess. But now I'm even more pissed because whenever I enter any arena my computer will go through those normal black screens for entering an arena but when it comes time to actually enter the arena, my computer jumps back to the Continuum menu and it seems as if the arena gets minimized against it's will. My computer simply won't let me make the arena be maximized now and won't let me play. Also, I get sounds of being in the arena if I click on the minimized arena but still my computer seems to be fighting against letting me see the arena.I'm using WinXP and no, the blaster virus is not on my computer.Cheesy
★ SOS Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 The turnoff can be due to overheating or power problems. Or the event log might have a clue (Control panel->Admin tools->Event log->System). What do you mean by "jumps back to the Continuum menu"?That would be the one with the zone list, but you say you hear the sounds? Do you mean the chat window? If yes, sounds like some program is stealing focus. Try closing programs.Sometimes programs get stuck minimized for me too, but when I start the program again, it works for me.
Guest Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 My bad, it doesn't go back to the Continuum menu it just goes back to the desktop and when I click on the minimized Continuum arena it looks like my computer momentarily is going to go to the game but instead goes to the desktop again and the chat window then pops up as well. Oh, and nothing on the event log occurred at that time.
Mr Ekted Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Something on your system is grabbing the focus from Continuum for an instant. Could be some toolbar, some instant messenger (ICQ? MSN? AIM?), or some virtual desktop thingy. http://home.maine.rr.com/user/ekted/pics/ssgc.jpg http://www.againsttcpa.com/images/AgainstTCPA-Log01Small.gif
