Aceflyer Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Heh I guess the updated software really is bad.
Samapico Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 The second topic in there is the Best of Youtube thread, and the 2 others... can't tell cause I'm having a hard time loading them. They make my computer fan go crazy, while "waiting for ssforum.net..." weird.

They make my computer fan go crazy, while "waiting for ssforum.net..." weird.Yeah, I get an error every time I attempt to open either the Youtube thread or the 'What are you listening to?' thread. "Internet explorer cannot open this website, operation aborted". I'm using IE7 btw.
rootbear75 Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 should've just waited til the Final Release
»D1st0rt Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 We can probably just hide those threads until we figure out what's going on Edit: done, it was the Youtube thread, 17th's 100% white cotton t-shirt thread, and some ancient thread from HS Trash Talk about a killing spree by some guy named My$ lets see if that does anything
PoLiX Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Yeah, they're error type threads. I actually noticed some issues the other day on the server when I looked at the status in WHM. It wasn't from us, but it only had like 40mb of ram left and Apache's CPU usage was through the roof, same with MYSQL. Forget the users, but one was a site that was dead, rubdepot or something. Dunno what was up, but yeah.
Confess Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Ive noticed this on my forum too. It has caused ubber lag on the server. Know of a fix?
PoLiX Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 http://forums.invisionpower.com/tracker/issue-14778-30-rc1-high-cpumemory/ watch and wait
PoLiX Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 Posted this on IPB Forum: Testing a theory that so far seems ok. There is a bug in the tracker I found happening again and posted about it the other day. I had to hide any threads with multiple images or media posts in them. Well, part of me began wondering if the bots weren't hanging up on the threads like those I missed or if any other threads that wouldn't open. I tried rebuilding the posts 2x, with no results, so I setup permissions and a group for bots. They can browse the forums, but not view any threads, hopefully fixing this problem. A Human would just close the browser, but I dunno if bots have a timeout or if the timeout isn't short enough. But so far, so good. Will have to see how this goes.
PoLiX Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 Ok, need help on this one... Googlebot is trying to reply to TONS of threads. Server locked up, and I looked in latest visitors just to see if it was a bot still, and noticed all the urls we're reply urls... For some reason setting a group doesn't seem to force the bot into that group. Is this a posted bug? Edit: had to IP Deny Googlebot. It was ignoring robots.txt and IPB's ban system. Sorry for all the posting, but just hoping as I find things, I can also help any other people who we're reporting issues with server load. 1 being a forum member of mine who has his own IPB Forum with the same issues. Edit2: So googlebot was the issue. Server load is at 0.0 and holding for 10mins now.
