Samapico Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Hmmm, the good ol' menu freezing again... Read this topic and the topics it links tohttp://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic...nu+freeze\ And if a solution works for you, PLEASE tell us... We need to make a FAQ item out of this, but we still have no idea what solution can work
Samapico Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Well, there are a lot of possible solutions that seemed to work for some people... but a solution that will work for sure is not known as far as I know. If you're on Vista, the first thing to try would be to reinstall it somewhere else than Program Files, like in your Documents folder. If you're using StyleXP, windowblinds, or similar programs, you might want to try to disable/uninstall them. It might also be that your computer is low on memory, close some processes, check the task manager to see if any program is using too much memory, and try again. If you're using AOL, that might also be the problem:waol.exe 42,316KAOLacsd.exe 33,048K Found your problem. And I'm being honest. AOL + Subspace or AOL + Continuum has been a pain for years now. 1st it was lag, and then with newer versions of AOL, it began crashing/closing Continuum with all of its new spyware and protection crap. Close AOL, and try running continuum and see if the menus work, if so, there is your issue. Not sure if AOL can allow certain programs to ignore the spyware or to be oked, but if not, I'm sorry.
PoLiX Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Really, I think that other programs are the underlying problem of half of the issues we get on this forum. Just give thanks to the way Priit packs continuum. Programs think it is either a virus or spyware 9/10.
Samapico Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 I'd trade a few easily-trackable hackers for a program that works more than half the time
