For some reason i cannot shoot my guns while i am maneuvering my ship. When i try and hit ctrl while moving my ship with the arrow keys, it doesnt shoot the guns. It will shoot a single burst of bullets after i let go of the arrow key i am holding. i also have the same problem with the afterburners. How can i fix this?

I have the standard HP keyboard that came with my computer. Its a wireless one so might that have something to do with it? Is there a workaround for the problem or will a new keyboard need to be purchased to solve it?

usually a change of your keyboard controls will fix the problem.

I found on my old PS2 keyboard, I couldnt hold the afterburners and hit down and right at the same time (Shift, down arrow, right arrow)

I'm having this same issue with the Microsoft Natural Ergnomic Keyboard, which is in fact a quality keyboard. I don't have problems with any other keyboards. I tried remapping the keys, but it didn't work. Is there any other kind of workaround?

I don't have the problem with any other programs. the keyboard works fine with every other program I have ever used, which implies that it's a problem with how continuum reads inputs.

meant to say, I don't have the problem with any other programs. the keyboard works fine with every other program I have ever used, which implies that it's a problem with how continuum reads inputs.

ok. I'm the guest. please disregard my two previous posts. it appears that my $60 microsoft keyboard doesn't work correctly.

I updated the drivers, and opened the diagnostic program (mskey.exe), and when I push Ctrl-Up-Left (holding them down), it doesn't recognize the left key.

so to the other dude with a lame keyboard -- try updating your keyboard's drivers, then run mskey and see if you can replicate the situation. if so, you will have to buy a new keyboard to play continuum correctly.

thanks microsoft.

my last post, I promise.

for the original poster -- try using the keys below "num lock" instead of the normal arrow keys. this appears to be working for me.

I had this problem on my computer and fixed it. Here's "Why" and "How" :

Why:

Some keys use the same circuit, therefore more than 1 key on the same circuit can't be used at the same time, and only 1 key is "pressed," according to the computer.

How:

Press Num Lock and use the number pad as your arrows. Voila, fixed. It feels wierd for the first 10 minutes but after that you'd just wonder why you ever used the conventional arrows. o.O..

To make it a bit easier, just change "down" to 5 instead of 2 in your Keyboard/Controlls setup in Continuum.

Up: 8

Down: 5

Left: 4

Right: 6

It's a bit more simple because it's so spacious. Enjoy!
