»Purge Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Speaking of school and such... last semester's grades were just given to me... perfect score, A+ in all my 4 classes, woohoo! 4 classes? Try straight As in seven classes (21 credits). Quote
omni Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 I'm graduating high school next year and with my grades and SAT scores I'm hoping to get into UC Berkeley or Standford for Pre-Med and then eventually become an anesthesiologist. Quote
Samapico Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 It's impossible to fit 7 classes in a semester in our program... Unless you're literally at school from 8:00 to 21:00 Monday to Friday for classes, which leaves you no time to study or anything, and if you make more than one week without killing yourself, good job The way we have it is quite different than most universities; couldn't tell you how exactly, but most places you take 6 or 7 classes normally, while we take 4, and some freaks take 5 sometimes. Our school is weird, anyway. »D1st0rt Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 you all are a bunch of damn nerds, instead of studying all the time i go out to bars and interact with actual people more important than a gpa Quote

Well, here in America, we can organize our classes into different available days/times so it's most convenient for us. And we use a credit system where 1 credit = 1 hour a week. So 21 credits = 21 hours of class a week. Unfortunately, my chemistry and physics labs are 1 credit but 3 hours a week... so that's gay. Quote
protocol_ Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 What's gay is my credit system. All my nursing classes are 3 hours one day a week. They both have clinicals that are 2 days a week for 8 hours each. Those classes are only worth 4 credits with the labs.. Quote
Samapico Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 We do use a credits system... Each class is 3 or 4 credits. A class of 3 credits will usually have 3 hours of class + 2 hours of lab, while a 4 credits class will have 3 hours of class and 3 hours of lab. I have 22 hours of class/lab in the week, and have only 13 credits in my semester. Yeah, summer semester too :/ I wanted to do my third internship this summer, but it didn't work out, so I'll have to do it in autumn. Yeah, we have to do 3 internships in the program. The coop program they call it. We're paid for them though Quote
Dr Brain Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Don't forget that some people are talking about high school classes and some are talking about college classes. Quote

»Purge Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 It also attracts high school and college dropouts (I'm not implying that negatively). Quote

Requiem. Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 (edited) @ LunaticYou'd think people could offer good things to the zones, but admins are picky and choosy about whom they even ask for help, notwithstanding some of them can be real jerks. Some of us "nerds" just dont want to deal with those kind of people. But meh, most of us spend time programming bots and "wasting time" to most people, but if you look at it from a social standpoint, its pretty good practice for troubleshooting @Protocol 60-70k a year? Are you so sure you'll get a job? @P Man; SamapicoI take 8 classes a day, they start at 5 am and end at 1:45 pm each day respectively.I'm assuming you mean 7 classes in college?Oh and P man, I'm in I.B. in 7 classes, so Honors x7 ftw, i've also already gotten a scholarship from bright futures for community service and im in the running for an essay scholarship.Still have to figure out what im going to do with my life first.I win.... Sorta @PurgeI chose to do Calculus and Chem. Next year instead of over the summer like I should of done, just so I can relax for 8 weeks instead of not getting a break. Gotta enjoy being having summer for as long as possible. Edit: Miss-spelled Futures Edited May 7, 2009 by Requiem. Quote
