You should put in privs, just make it so the ships can't move and have no weapons or anything while in priv.

I'll be serious and tell you why they're disabled: Runwinners get an insane amount of money. It's as if they're a single man pub playing against a team of 19 players.

Arnk said something about ppl exploiting it to field and ruin flag games, but I don't see what the big deal is. It's not like they could do much more than they already can now with 2 teams.

Runwinning was a problem before with privs but I don't think 1 person privs would me able to much against 2 teams of 19 ppl trying to flag

fact is not everyone is playing the flag game constantly and it is not acceptable for people to be winning flag games that people aren't playing when it's priv vs the world, because of the insane reward factor they'd get like doc mentioned

Don't you think teams get uneven enough already? It doesn't matter if your enemies are on the same team or not if they're both fighting you from two different flanks. Privs allows one team to be fought by more people at once than their team has, and the number of people fighting against them can still increase. At least now if you want to flank you are taking something away from one front and moving it to the other front, so it isn't really unfair at all.

People have abused the 1 person privs to just lay fields in bases where the two main teams were fighting pretty much just to piss everyone off, so those people essentially ruined it for the rest of you. Not having privs doesn't create any fundamentally lame and broken things for the game, compared to having privs.

If ONE person can evade 19 players for the entire flag drop duration (including the 1 minute required to win after they're dropped), then that ONE person should be obligated to the jackpot.

 

Seriously, how could ONE person manage to drop the flags 3 times (sets of 4) against even one competent player who can easily alert the public or spec them?

I think if a 1-man priv is able to do that and no one cares to stop him, good for him.

 

However, I'm perpetuating this and I tell you, I am not in it for the money or to disrupt flag games. I give away all my money in trivia or 'who wants money' games.

 

The main reason I want 1-man private freqs back is, like Miss Meow said, I want to fight more enemies without having to share them. Also, the teams are often unbalanced because people are chatting, buying/selling, researching items they might buy, etc. It's unusually frequent to see the team with more players (and less active players) getting pushed around by the smaller team. In this case there is no way for players to try to balance the teams. To me, the pros of privs outweigh the cons of not having them.

if one person can do all of that while all of the rest of people are centering he shouldn't be getting any money at all because he's not doing anything warranting getting money because he's not playing a game with other people.
