Cheese Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) why is inertial damper an emitter?it doesnt do anything that would classify it as an emitter... its an addon, why isnt it in that category? in addition, noone that isnt a lanc will buy it.its available to all, which is good, but its really only worth something for lancs.keeping it an emitter will mean noone can get it without sacrificing something like xradar.as a result of this, i cant even think of -1- lanc that has it. Can we please reclassify inertial damper as an addon? this isnt really that big of a request, either Edited April 25, 2009 by Cheese Quote
Dr Brain Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Presumably it was classified as an emitter because of balance reasons. Need to have enough variety in each of the categories. Quote
Evil Doom Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 i have inertial damper in atleast 5 of my ships! Fail thread! Quote
Emit Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 i have inertial damper in atleast 5 of my ships! Fail thread!2nd Quote
Kilo Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 It emits inertial dampening, are you really this dense? It's one of the most popular emitters, too. It's now my policy to ignore posts which misuse the size tag. Quote
Corey Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 i have inertial damper on all 3 of my ships, notice how i said all 3? lol, I'm poor. Quote
»D1st0rt Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 So you want us to make it not be an emitter for the precise reason we made it an emitter? nothx Quote
p man Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 I use it on my javInfact almost everyone has it on wb/jav Quote
vetta64 Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 I have inertial on 7 out of 8 ships and the only reasons I dont have it on 8 is because I cant afford it yet. Quote
Cheese Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 (edited) i have inertial damper in atleast 5 of my ships! Fail thread! $5 says anyone who makes this statement doesnt use xradar, in which case theyre easy pickings for cloakers did i mention i have xradar on 8 ships? i also lol'd at thisIt emits inertial dampening, are you really this dense? Kilo Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Cloakers don't bother me, but even to this day people fail as a team to check X-Radar and let people just stroll into their flag rooms uncontested. And then they also fail to put on any antiwarp at all so the cloakers can leave undetected with their flags... but ultimately it's a team's choice if they want to be that full of fail. Quote
Cheese Posted April 27, 2009 Author Report Posted April 27, 2009 (edited) thats because there isnt enough emitter slots. either because there isnt enough slots, or there are just higher priorities than xradar, aw, or damper and guess who has the power to do something about it =] Edited April 27, 2009 by Cheese Quote
Kilo Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 I think you've entirely missed the point of there being a limited number of emitters per ship. Quote
Emit Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 obv some people don't need xradar because they know how to make use of multifire in base zz Quote
Kilo Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 but they don't know how to make use of their brains unfortunately so they forget to hold down gun key lawl Quote
Syrith Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 I put inertial damper on all of my ships. Extra mobility = win. Plus the reduced screen shaking helps. Quote
Cheese Posted April 29, 2009 Author Report Posted April 29, 2009 this explains why % of anyone in center doesnt have xradar Quote
Syrith Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Energy scanner provides more benefits than x radar.Cloakers aren't much of a problem since they're weakened. Quote
Syrith Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Space mines are an adequate solution to that, along with antiwarp. Unfortunately, most pubs are too incompetent to have any ships with those capabilities. Also, it's kinda hard to steal flags from someone who doesn't know you're there while flagging in center (unless they're camping). Quote
Kilo Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 no one uses antiwarp either, read upspace mines don't last forever Quote
»D1st0rt Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 diamonds are forever, maybe you should drop those instead Quote
Syrith Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 I use antiwarp when I detect a cloaker in a base (while I'm not lancing... but then I'd see them on radar and prevent them from passing), either that or I mine up the place. Space mines can be easily replaced. Quote
