We don't use bots (generally,) they are less powerful than server modules and a lot more high-maintenance. So when you make a suggestion you can just word it like "we should have stats spammed at the end of every fg..." Oh, and we have a stats module and everything but I don't think there's much use for using it in public when the start of a real flag game is very hard to determine. More likely it'd be something like DSB(?) where we'd give the stats for the last 15-30 minutes.
Lunatic High Posted April 19, 2009 Author Report Posted April 19, 2009 Yeah I've seen the stats for DSB(is that what the basing event is??) at the end of the flag game, and that is pretty awesome. You are right that it is hard to determine the start of a fg, because they can sometimes last FOREVER. I'd say spamming stats for the last 15 minutes would be too short; 30 is what I'm thinking. And if it canbe done without a bot, so much the better.

kid Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 it's a type of server. the two types of servers are asss (as3) (a small subspace server) and subgame. most zones run off of subgame, but hyperspace runs off of asss. it doesn't need bots because the functions normally performed by them are run by the server in the form of modules. a module could be (probably already is) written to do what you are suggesting a bot does. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d200/Adamsjost2/cellplanet-2.png

HZ, HS, PB, and some scrub zones run this currently. subgame = crusty old assembly hacked crap whose main selling point is that it is i guess stable enough. most of the zones still run this because they are cowards
