No_Remorse Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Firstly, I'm using Vista... On this computer anyway. I'm unsure if this problem has already been addressed but I'm wondering why I get this error when trying to install Continuum "Setup was unable to create the directory "C:\Program Files\Continuum". Error 5: Access is denied" My bad if this was in the F.A.Q.(which I scanned real quick).
Hakaku Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Issue addressed here: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?s=&sh...st&p=203734 For Vista:1) Try the above-mentioned suggestions in that post.2) Disable the UAC (if you don't want to see #3 and #4)3) Or do the following for both C:\ and C:\Program Files :In Windows Vista, users by default don't have any administrator rights, which may cause files to be displaced, or not function at all. In order to fix this, it is recommended that you either disable Windows' UAC, or do the following: Open up My Computer and select "properties" by right clicking on your drive C:\ . Switch over to the 'Security' tab, and set the Authenticated Users to be able to write. Click apply, then try playing Continuum. (or downloading it)4) Or, you can try to make yourself an administrator by clicking on the start button. Then click on the profile icon (at the topmost right), and a window concerning User Accounts should show up. Click on "Change your account type", and set yourself to Administrator.
