FMBI Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Link Let's just move on and come together! Let's pretend that this memo, underneath all the "largest attack in American history" fluff, didn't authorize Bush to kill the 1st and 4th amendments, as well as violate Posse Comitatus at will! Sounds good to me. Still think we don't need an investigation? Quote
SeVeR Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) Do it in 5 years and not today. The Obama Presidency does not need to become pre-occupied with prosecuting Bush based on differing idealogy. It would dominate his Presidency and ruin his chance to do what many of us put him in power to do. The media would have a field day, the right-wing cynics would make Obama look like a bitter vengeful waste of a President who is trying to divert attention away from failed policy by pandering to liberal calls for Bush's head... etc etc. Obama shouldn't let this dominate his time in office. NBVegita Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 First off this memo simply shows that legal council to the department of Justice states that they believe the president would have the power to circumvent the 4th Amendment and P.C., not that the president was asking to, nor attempting to. It did ask if they could circumvent the P.C. act, but that is about all this article shows beyond the fact that council for the Justice Department thought it would be constitutionally acceptable. Obama shouldn't let this dominate his time in office. Exactly. Quote
