omni Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Pick a mod who's on like 24/7 and not AFK like Rare. Quote
Acer Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 PICK UB- HE'S NEVER AFK AND HE'S ALWAYS ON! Rofl.. That will never happen, omni. Quote

Suicide_Run Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 There is only exploits if there is too many flaws. Make it perfect and you won't any problems. Quote
omni Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 There is only exploits if there is too many flaws. Make it perfect and you won't any problems. Yes because it is so easy and fast to make a perfect system. Quote
Acer Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 If it was possible to make something perfect then there would be no need for moderators. Quote
Dr Brain Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 In this case, it takes about the same amount of time to make an imperfect system as to make a perfect one. Quote
Spirit Phantom Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 you realize that SS/Continuum has been dying for the last 5 years. Its going to take a lot more then events to save this game. I've seen it on several occasions, SWZ, RS, Fusion, T3, Warzone CTF. Just the way things are going, too many people playing gay WoW. Quote
Dr Brain Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 you realize that SS/Continuum has been dying for the last 5 years. Not really dying. It has been consolidating somewhat, though. Quote
Stibbymicto Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) What is an Activity Director going to do differently than Unix did? Providing any sort of power, even arena owner, is a huge security problem. Giving someone arena owner is enough to let them gain sysop level access to the zone. That means we're extremely cautious in hiring people, since we've been bitten in the past (see exhibit A: Quigybobo). The higher level commands also have a bunch of huge flaws, meaning it's easy to crash the zone if you don't know exactly what you're doing. I'm pretty sure everyone with staff level access has crashed the zone at least once using a command they weren't intimately familiar with. I haven't been convinced that there's a good reason why I should give someone that sort of access. These players will then either chip-in a certain amount and moderators will then grant the remaining prizes OR that director could be given power for each game. That moderator could be someone new, someone who would be a fresh face for hs moderation and will be supervised during these events, or an oldy mod who will still keep the custom going. These games would be either team-orientated or even have little additions to the game. (see GAMES) at the end, the winning team or player would win a set amount of money following down the chain so everyone gets something for playing. Any money left over will be degranted and given right back to the mods. (this can be monitered by checking the mod or new mods money account beforehand and then just setting it back to that) afterwards, :\ There isn't really, except for fun for the players. But why "Activity Director". Same thing as mod. Lets get off the subject about needing mods. This has been going on for have of this reset. There are enough mods. I've decided to agree with arnk/br brain and anyone else that things there are enough mods, just not enough time. If we really need a mod rare would contact someone when he is going to have to be afk or he'd just stay. And if there was something going on and I were to be there, I'd just get sharp to come in to deal with the problem, atleast I hope he'd go to HS. lol.Acer LoL.It said nothing, and I mean NOTHING, about NEEDING a new mod. it just said it could be an approach. A new mod OR a mod already in hyperspace. Also, they dont have alot of time. But a new mod would. I personally am online all the time, as are you now, and so is emit, and so is a few other players. THESE are the players who need to be made into mods. THEY will have the TIME the other mods lack. THEY will be able to take up some slack. p.s. ACER FOR MOD ^^ Edited March 20, 2009 by Stibbymicto Quote
Acer Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Rivel was active before he was mod right? I'm pretty sure he was. But sooner or later all of those players will have better things to do other then sitting on a 2D space game. :/ Atleast thats what I'd think. Quote
Corey Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Eventually everybody moves on, its just a matter of time. Quote
Stibbymicto Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Were moving back into why thats a good reason to get a new a mod. Quote

omni Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 Rare is just afk all the time. IMO it couldn't hurt to try and introduce a new moderator to the staff. Powers can be taken away just as easily as they are given. Quote
protocol_ Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 Don't hire any mentally challenged.... problem solved? Quote
omni Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 but any damage made cannot be undone Of course it can. Quote
