Hs needs new mods.

fact is is that Hs is rapidly dwindling. Something obviously needs to be done, and since brain is adamant on not making a new mod, that thing needs to be figured out asap.

Dude chill out man. Summer is almost here, that means there should atleast I hope there will be a reset before or maybe a couple of days after summer starts. By then people will start coming back making a 20v20 game almost a few weeks later and HS will have a steady pop of 30 or 40.

let's be completely honest and call this thread what it is: people making semi-subtle attempts to get hired as a moderator.

 

 

you don't need to host events when pub is more fun than the events. yeah; i said it. the events here suck. they don't relate to pub or the core gameplay; they offer gigantic rewards to people who can race in a boring course; they don't utilize the server as they could.

The events here have largely been intented as a change of pace from the normal gameplay, to let you get away from the grind, so thank you for that assessment. As for the large rewards unfortunately I think that is a side effect of people being conditioned to get them over a long time. The amount of behavior mod it would take to get things back to normal is probably not worth it. Race rewards are pretty reasonable though, its considerably harder than it looks to be competitive.

The direction of this forum was meant to bring awareness to the lack.

The lack has been picking up greatly as we get closer to the summer, which is why this topic SHOULD have died a few weeks ago.

 

 

also, racing is easy I usually place 3rd or higher during a 10 + people race. Usually I dont get past 5th. Although Arnk there got me in 6th when he hosted a little while ago, around the time I stopped playing, with his rocket.

 

The events at hyperspace ARE fun, its just mods dont usually like to host them often

-Paint

-Turretwars

-HYPERBALL

-HotPocket

 

And that one game with the leviathans shooting down at players attempting to reach the end (snipers I believe)

Dodge usually happens after a race or two. At least that's what happens when I get on. Paint is boring in my opinion. Turretwars is fun, I'm still 3-0 (3 wins - 0 deaths) as the turret. Hyperball is something where there should be big pop unless you do a short 5-10 min game in the mini base. Hotpocket well.. I haven't played hotpocket or atleast I can't remember.

5 resets ago: avg 25 players.

4 resets ago: avg 45 players

3 resets ago: avg 60 players

2 resets ago: avg 30 players

1 reset ago: avg 25 players

current: avg 15 players

 

What does that tell you about the last 3 resets?

To address the events issue: Race (in the events arena, dear god, not really long merged base races) isn't a bad event. It rewards skill and provides money to anyone who participates. Going to long events... I don't think it's cool to have nearly a half hour of hyperball hosted to only have half of the people participating satisfied. In the future, I'll see about making games shorter and rewarding for everyone. After all, it's only fun if you gain something from it... right?

 

Oh, and from the feedback I've received from players, hot pocket sucks. I wonder if I'll remodel it someday. I hope you guys will check out this thread and provide feedback and suggestions on events.

 

And I'd really, really love a CTF module. Really.

 

 

Although this thread was about lack of mods, I think that issue (or lack thereof) was already cleared up earlier in the thread... so excuse my off-topic-ness! Thread was already off the rails anyways.

When events are hosted, everyone spams in caps the one event that they really want to play. One of the frequently spammed events is bombline that was hosted in another arena. I know that it was deleted, but would it be possible to have another event like that one? It was a lot of fun and a change of pace from put and involved everybody.

 

(The bombline I'm referring to is the one that had 4-5 levis on one side of the map and the other players had to maneuver through the course. NOT the boring one that involved the 1 shooter and the 6 boxes filled with wbs.)

I agree with protocol, that "version" of bombline was a lot of fun and required a good deal of luck and skill. Why not bring it back?

If your trying to get me riled up, your going to have to try a bit harder then that.
