Make your pages in ASP.Net and you won't have any trouble with internet explorer ^^.

Yes, people still use IE at a ratio of about 45% IE, 45% FF, and 10% other (according to W3C January 2009). But the statistics will vary per website.

And no, IE isn't a dead technology, but I'm not going to go into details since there are quite a number of threads like this that end up being a duel between browserXfanboy versus browserYfanboy.

I think the only people who use IE, are 1) People who arent tech savvy and dont know about Firefox. or 2) Heard about firefox, but dont like change, so they never checked out how awesome FF is, so they dont know what they're missing.

Once again, each browser has advantages and disadvantages (if you don't code websites at all, you would never realize the actual differences except what's on the end-user interface and what you read in the news). Like I said in the last thread, just because Firefox has a fanriding and passes the Acid test, it doesn't mean that it fully respects W3C standards any more than IE. Actually, I would honestly say that Opera is a better browser in this aspect, even though I don't use it. But I don't see any FF fans switching to Opera; they'd rather sit around and act superior to IE. It really just all comes down to convenience and preference.

A lot of software for business usage is written for internet explorer. Microsoft Dynamics CRM only works in ie (ok, little biased example there), but i'm sure there are other software tools out there that are programmed with ASP and that can be a pain to get correct in other browsers.

Back on topic I think the pie graph is pretty darn good, however for me the part of getting ur site to work in IE doesn't exactly work because I gave up one hundred percent on IE. My site looks like crap on IE... do I care? No.
