Heliotrope Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 I can't open the game! i'm not too computer savvy but i was wondering if anyone has any adviceit installs fine right up until I hit "finish." at that point i keep getting this weird error message that says:"unable to execute file: C/program files/continuum/continuum.execreateprocess failed; code 2the system cannot find the file specified" no idea why it happens or how to fix it. has anyone else ever seen this?
PoLiX Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 2 questions... 1. Where did you download the installer from?2. Are you opening Continuum from the installer? If yes to #2, open up Task Manager and end process Continuum.exe. Then try opening continuum.
Heliotrope Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 i downloaded it from getcontinuum.comand when i open the task manager, continuum isn't running in the processes tab!
Samapico Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Weird... this looks like a system error more than an error of the application itself Perhaps try redownloading it, from a different location; try the 'Download now' link at the top-left of this page
Heliotrope Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 i tried downloading it from the link on this site and i got the same error. i think its a system error as well, but i have no idea what it is or how to fix it.i recently wiped my hard drive with a dell system restore disk, could this have something to do with the error? the game had worked on my laptop prior to the hard drive wipe.

MikeTheNose Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 How about giving him a different continuum.exe or the zip installation? OS might have a problem with the installer.
PoLiX Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?autocom=d...&showfile=2 Download this and unzip it into the same directory as you're trying to install continuum in. Replace all the files.
Heliotrope Posted February 18, 2009 Author Report Posted February 18, 2009 lol got the same error message with the zip file.i think it's just not meant to be
Hakaku Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Try via safe mode, like I mentioned earlier.
MikeTheNose Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 lol got the same error message with the zip file.i think it's just not meant to be I ment a zip file without the installer in it. Some weirdo put the .exe in a zip file...kinda defeated the purpose.
»doc flabby Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 You could always try my custom installer http://subspace2.net/Continuum040Setup-DocFlabby.exe Also try installing to a different directory (not in program files) eg. c:\Continuum

PoLiX Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?autocom=d...amp;showfile=22 All the default files in a zip. Just extract and run.
