Samapico Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 I talked about spending Valentine's day with robots earlier... well... These:http://www.gpa.etsmtl.ca/cours/gpa546/photo1.jpg http://www.gpa.etsmtl.ca/cours/gpa546/photo2.jpg are what I was talking about With the conveyors and all. The one I had to work on for the last weeks is the third one on the first pic (or second from the back). Our cell was the most complicated for that first project cause we had a conveyor to handle, while other teams just needed to feed something to their robots to take with a simple 'ON if no item detected yet'. We're getting it corrected tomorrow, I'll try to get a video of it. After that we'll start the next project in teams of 12... Yes 12. Each team will have one half of the lab to get working (2 robots + 2 PLC's).The PLC's we use are the huge ControlLogix from Allen-Bradley... One of them could easily handle a large manufacture... We have 4 :S
Audry Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 You know a guy is a geek when he a put the smiley in a thread about robots...
Samapico Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 Icon fixed And yes... but that's off topic
»Blocks Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 teams of 12...Good luck getting anything done. -_-
Samapico Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 It's not like we're 12 on a single computer... There are 2 PLC's to program, 2 robots, an HMI and some LED display screen to show stats on and stuff like that. Each person already has a pretty specific job to do, and technically we'll only have to share inputs/outputs with other people for their part
»Blocks Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Good luck getting anything done well*.
