Since I know some people are curious as to what's happening with ASSS, and how long it will take before some bot features are rendered server-side and so on, here's the scoop:

 

When we switched servers, a lot of modules had been untested in a live environment, which caused inevitable problems especially with differences between Windows and Linux. As a result, half of the functionality still remains bot-controlled (credits, buy, playerstats, events...), while the other half is server-controlled. I've been working on each of these modules trying to fix them, iron out the bugs, and get them in a usable state; progress is slow, but surely getting there.

 

 

List:

- Credits (there's a problem with the formula - fixed ish but not rly)

- Buy (fixed & implemented)

- Events (need more thorough testing, but I believe to have fixed the original crashing issue)

- Fix MegaJP (I really have no clue wt? the module does)

MegaJackpot has now been restored! Mods can start and stop it using either !start/!stop, or ?start/?stop. Take your pick. (as a general rule of thumb, it should be hosted on weekends as it used to)

 

Credits and Buyables are all functional, let me know if you have trouble with any of them. Events on the other hand will be a bit longer, I'm basically gonna rewrite the entire module by hand. Expect Jugger to be the first to return, then elim events after.

Paintball is now online. Like MegaJackpot, all you have to do to start PB is to use ?start/?stop. Parameters include -g(#) for goals, and -s(#) for ship restrictions. Ship restrictions are optional, but the goals must be specified.

 

For example

?start paintball -g(3) -s(2,5,7,:)

 

I may eventually incorporate a full stats system into the game, but for now enjoy ^^. Please let me know if there are any problems with either this or MegaJackpot.

Dew was a pointless event, why not just dog fight in center honestly

Jugger is now online. Use ?start/?stop as always. Parameters include -k(#) for the number of kills required to win, -s(#) for the ship limits (applies to everyone except juggernaught*), and -j(#) for the jugger's ship (can only specify one ship limit for the juggernaught). Both -s and -j are optional, but the kills must be specified.

 

Example:

?start jugger -k(25) -s(1,2,3) -j(8)

 

*The catch is, you gotta remember that if you change ships while being the juggernaught, you lose your flag and someone else can steal the opportunity. :blush:

More updates!

 

MegaJackpot was updated, it should now work as it's suppose to. ?start/?stop

 

I finally added the race module which I was working on back in August, then stopped in September, and made it functional today blum.gif So all races and mazes should now work properly. Use ?start race/?stop to begin or stop a current game. Parameters include -s for ships, and -m for mystery mode. Players can use ?time to check their current progress.

 

Example:

?start race -s(1,2,3) -m

 

Stats are not recorded though, so ?trackbest and ?best don't work yet.

I have a question though! Would it possible to make it so that players can start a race without a mod? Just so we have something to pass the time while the zone is at one of its more quiet times. =p

The following buyables have been fixed and placed back in the zone:

  • burn
  • noanti
  • zero
  • warp
  • nocloak
  • shutdown

?buy freq should also be working properly now.

March 5th Updates:

 

  • Minor bug in Paintball fixed, where the scores were being added to the opposite teams.
  • Credits should no longer reset when the zone recycles.
  • MegaJackpot has been added to the main arena. It's designed SOS-style, meaning that the multiplier will only take effect when the jackpot is won. Use ?start/?stop to activate it - try to restrict its usage to the weekend.
  • Minor proximity bug with recent buyables fixed.

June 1st Updates:

 

  • Credits are now tied back down to the database, so they should no longer reset and are thus reliable.
  • The commands ?best and ?trackbest have been fixed for all races and mazes.

June 15th Updates:

 

Added a game events module, the following events are now available:

  • Elim
  • Team Elim
  • KillRace
  • Team KillRace
  • Conquer
  • Zombies

For mods, just type ?start to view a list of available events, ?start to begin a game, and ?stop to end an active game.

 

You can also type ?rules at any given time during an event to view the game rules.

 

I haven't thoroughly tested all of these, and not at all for team elim and team killrace, so if you notice anything strange, do let me know.
