ThunderJam Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Whose got opinions on the best CMS (content management systems) for webstes? The pool I coach swimming for asked if I could set up their new site, but once its set up, a few other people will need to be able to upload content/info/updates to the site, so I figured a CMS is best. Suggestions? thoughts?
PoLiX Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Basic website, Wordpress or Drupal. Something more advanced, sometimes Joomla or CMSmadesimple will do best. They're a bit more customizable/editable without having to modify much.
»freakmonger Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 for a "blogging" type of site, wordpress hands down. But for an "entire" site, I would go with e107 www.e107.org
Hakaku Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 As previously mentioned, a blogging-oriented website would definitely benefit more from WordPress. If you're looking more for a userbase-oriented website, then Joomla and Drupal seem to be the better ones for managing that. But if you're looking for a more personalizable website, then I recommend MODx, since it provides more flexibility and control over customization.
prozaker Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 I've only worked with wordpress and joomla. I didint used to like joomla, because it didn't use to validate, but now, it seems they acknowledged that.I think it's a good cms. lots of extensions and not a lot of sec issues.
CRe Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 CMSMadeSimple and Joomla are good. I've used wordpress as well. It's good if your blogging.
tcsoccerman Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 I'd go with drupal myself. Joomla seemed bloated just on initial install.
