Prottos007 Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 (edited) My main menu on this computer, the one on DSL, shows the hyperspace zone in red; but my other one, on wireless, shows hyperspace in green?? I have set my options to show all zones within a 200-500 ping limit, but its still in red. Could anyone help me get back? Edited January 23, 2009 by Prottos007 Quote
CRe Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 Are you sure its the correct zone? Open up the zones dialog and see if theres a question mark next to SSCE Hyperspace. -CRe> Quote

CRe Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 That means its not the correct zone. When you open the Zones dialog there should be a place to enter in directory servers. Put the following in the text field: sscentral.sscuservers.net ssdir.playsubspace.com warpath.bluetoast.org warpath.hlrse.net sharvil.nanavati.net auto.subdir.net auto.subdir.org Just copy and paste the above over there. After you do that hit download and it should update. If it doesn't update remove it from your zone list and hit download then re-add it. Regards,CRe> Quote
Hakaku Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 No, the yellow icon appears because Hyperspace is not forwarding information to the following directory server: sscentral.sscuservers.net. As of January 22nd, all directory servers excluding PriitK's are offline. Quote
vetta64 Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 I am having the same problem accessing HS from my work computer. I can get it from home. But I can't get my work computer to connect to the zone. I need help here. Quote
CRe Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 Prottos, you can try custom adding the zone. In the Zone Dialog click "Add Custom..." Put in the following in the text boxes: Zone: SSCE HyperspaceIP: 208.122.59.226Port: 5005 Quote

Like I said, i can get hyperspace on one of my computers, but not the other. EDIT:Never mind, the second solution worked. THe old IP address was something along the lines of 68.something. Thanks! I have the same problem when I try to play on my laptop while at college. It sucks Quote
Posse Slash Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 I had the same problem too, But custom adding the zone worked, Tho every time I open continuum or change zone, I have to re-add the zone, which is pretty lame, Anyone knows why? Quote

Some of the continuum files (zone.dat specifically) might be set to read only. Quote
Posse Slash Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 Okey, And how do I change that? >_> Sorry for my lack of computer skills, lol. Quote
CRe Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 Go to your Continuum Folder (C:/Program Files/Continuum by default) and right click on the file (zone.dat in this case) and click properties. See if read-only is checked in the General tab. If it is checked then un-check it. If that does not work and you are using Windows Vista open up the properties again, and go to the security tab. Hit "Edit..." and give full control to all the users and administrators. -CRe> Quote
rootbear75 Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 that permission change works in XP Pro as well (if you are using XP home, you're kind of out of luck) Quote
