»freakmonger Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Ok after about 7 months of only being logged into continuum via a chat client, I decided to start playing again. Well I am on a laptop so I knew it wouldn't be the best in the world but screw it. So I logged in and everything is ok, but all of the chats (f2 box, chat lines, etc) appear on top of each other. So if I got a kill, I can't even read the kill message. If you type something to me, I can't read it. Its weird. I checked "fonts" in the advanced options but it didn't help. I tried to take a screenshot but can't for some odd reason. I'm using .40 on Vista. Any ideas?
Cancer+ Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing?
Samapico Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 tried different resolutions or windowed/fullscreen?

rootbear75 Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Freak don't you know you are supposed to read the FAQs first... BAD FREAK *smack* http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=17852
Samapico Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 From what I understood, the colors are fine, things are just not placed where they should be. I remember some bug about the ship not being in center of the screen; are those related?

I remember some bug about the ship not being in center of the screen; are those related?I understood it exactly like rootbear did, and I'm kind of dissapointed even freakmonger didn't read the faq (or search the issue for that matter). And no they're not the same. The uncentered ship problem is caused when a user is using a resolution that isn't the same as their desktop. The problem occurs when Continuum is minimized into alt+tab mode and then flipped back into the game; basically Continuum refreshes itself to conform with your desktop settings, while the screen displayed is smaller than that given resolution, making everything seem displaced (technically the ship is centered in Continuum). This is easily fixable by alt+tabbing back again or exiting/re-entering the game.http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/1333/scrcontoe2.png
