^ you have it... I was just in 17th by myself.. 0 pop no bots.. flying through the west base... and I realized how much I miss this zone...how many fun memories I have here.. And sama smart move by putting up this older map but its not the one I was referring to.. could u try and put up the one before it? with no duel boxes left/right of safety? and the sets that went with that.. so to compare fun-ness?

 

Lets get some ppl in this zone fk I dont care if its 3v3 I'll play a pub game. And if anyone ANYONE ever sees me online and wants to duel, just pM me and ill come running. Love 17th duels.

The duel boxes is pretty much the only thing different... Settings had not changed either as far as I know

The settings seem to be a mishmash of 17th in the 3 years before closure, and the time before that.

 

Eg WB lv3 bullets: they were lv2 for just about as long as I can remember. As were levs with lv1 instead of current lv3.

 

Spiders had 2 bursts, not 3.

Walls were about double the size

Terr I think had lv1 bombs, not lv2, and I'm pretty sure they didn't have stealth

Spider had lv2 bullets with some spread, not as much as sharks, instead of lv1s.

Lanc's bullets are all messed up. Multifire was a triple shot with a little spread.

 

The weasel is pretty much ALL wrong. It was never the best at turning, but I didn't think it was that bad? And it's not the same size etc.

 

I've probably missed some about energy, recharge rates etc

Those are the 2001 settings, when I started to play. They were the same until ... 2003 atleast.

Ah yeah, I'd forgotten about that. Think I was thinking of the TW weasel of old.

 

And yeah, 2002-3 was the time I started playing SS, so my knowledge of the sets is from that time and later. Still - the 2003 setts were better :-)

It had cloak and stealth too. If you didn't have X-radar then people could just pop up in the weasel and kill you randomly. When i started playing there was this guy called "Big Dave" who would use it, and i honestly thought he was cheating. It was the biggest source of complaint in the zone and the main reason why settings were changed in the first place.
