PoLiX Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Heard it from quite a few reliable sources. But honestly (not trying to offend any zones here, just being honest) but it is hosting nothing more than a bunch of dead zones. That or zones working on development that really don't have much pop. Waste of money to have a large server just for that imho. Especially if it is the same server they had long ago hosting a bunch of larger zones and their bots without any issue. I'm sure SSCE or SSCC could help some of them with hosting for that if they really need it.
»Purge Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 It appears that Snrrrub's server, SSCA, is taking the SSCI zones.
L.C. Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 (edited) SSCI is gone...forever... no this cant be THIS CANT BE! http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/sscishutdown.png Edited January 1, 2009 by L.C.
PoLiX Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 ^ Little over reacting I'd say... Hopefully sarcasm.
»freakmonger Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 (edited) The one thing that SSCI hosted that was of the most importance was the bots for Chaos/Premire League & their stats website. The other zones seemed to have little population. And yes its true. Edited January 1, 2009 by freakmonger
Drake7707 Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 SSCI is gone...forever... no this cant be THIS CANT BE! epicrage.org! Well the amount of well maintained zones are shrinking, it's only logical that the servers do as well
»Ceiu Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 epicrage.org! ... Goddamnit, drake. Now I hate the internet even more.
Hoch Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 I am amazed this has only come up now. Back in October, I did inform all SSCI zone owners and Sysops thatI would be shutting down the server. I originally wanted to do it bythe end of November. However, given that not a single one of themnor Death+ bothered to reply to my messages and e-mails, I gavethem another month. I did notice that there was a message in oneof the zones news.txt. Again, I wish all the operators of those zones much luck. Cheers, -Hoch
Hakaku Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Although I never got any message in October nor e-mail, I did appreciate your ?message in late November. Since Deva has had a lot more contact with Death+, I was hoping to get in contact with him, but it simply never happened. So I asked some people who confirmed via chat that this was true, so I immediately warned the entire zone that there was a possibility for it to go down within the upcoming month. I was criticized for overreacting by putting it in the news.txt, but hey, it did happen Asides, it's a good opportunity to make several changes in the zone.
Dav Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 well whilst it is sad to see SSCI go, its really isnt that significant as it stands. As al;ways the community has pulled together to fill the void so on the face of the game no more then a letter will change in a few zone names. Anyway now is a good time to say thanks to the people that have been running SSCI over the years

»Lynx Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 It sure would have been useful to transfer some of the static IP's, though. I wonder how much that'd cost. -L
