pixelsoft Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 hi, always when i open subchat and connect to one of the SSC-Zones, it says that i am banned...but if i connect with continuum with the same account, i'm not. and i know that i am not the only one who has this problem... so, what's wrong?
»Admiral Kirk Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 Are you trying to enter a Continuum only zone? Are you on the VIP.txt.
Intention Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 I had this happen. Whats the BanID #?
pixelsoft Posted December 20, 2003 Author Report Posted December 20, 2003 Kirk, dunno if it's continuum-only, i only tried SSCI Turf Arizona SVS... and i don't think that i'm on their VIP.txt :/ Intention, i can't see the BanID with subchat
Intention Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 wait around, in a few seconds, it would give you the net-banned from ssc message, with a BanID. I just had this happen, a week ago.
pixelsoft Posted December 20, 2003 Author Report Posted December 20, 2003 strange, now i'm not banned anymore :/
»Admiral Kirk Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Subchat also randomly generates its MachineID which means that sometimes you can end up overlapping a local/net ban. If that happens, shutdown the program, then start it back up and try again.
madhaha Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Why doesn't it just take the local MachineID?
»CypherJF Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 I had this same problem; it had worked fine w/ earlier SubChats, but like one day it started saying ^Banned; but you could login w/ continuum just fine. Someone told me you either need to be on the VIP.txt or BanFree-ed on the server. BanFree worked for me XD
pixelsoft Posted January 14, 2004 Author Report Posted January 14, 2004 Ok, i restarted Subchat like 7 times, and it still doesn't work.It worked on SSCI Turf Arizona, but since it moved to WZ, i tried to connect to WZ with subchat and it always disconnects me.then i tried with chaos... the same...and then with alpha: Connecting to, IP: 216.34.65.183, Port: 8450Login Successfull.Local Map File found, Checksums Match, Loading... ^Banned> ?chat=C3NS0R3D$$$Welcome to SSCX Alpha West SVS! Check out our website at: http://www.sscxalpha.com/You are banned from SSCX Alpha West SVS till 2031-02-13 03:18 GMT-4 BanId #217If you have done nothing wrong, please contact Bargeld .Disconnected by Server.Disconnecting...
viper16grl Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Kirk> Ah yes, now i remember. I had issues logging into the SSN biller, so I changed the macID to something static. That ID must have been banned.. I should realy fix that ^^ well, ban free it is then sorry guys. Ill fix it some time eventualy
madhaha Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 I repeat, why not use the local MachineID?
Smong Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 So this is old, but I haven't been here for a while. Is macid only for dos/fat par!@#$%^&*ions? (keeping in mind the purpose of wxWindows is to be cross-platform) If so, then simply hash the user's name into something 4 bytes long and use that as the macid.
»Dustpuppy Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 IIRC, the MacID is the serial number of the hard drive, so I'm sure Linux will be able to read it anyway.
